Researching Pics of WWI
Any ^ | today | Self

Posted on 09/04/2017 7:14:53 PM PDT by thesligoduffyflynns

I am researching pics of soldiers from WWI .

Specifically any pic of a soldier w/helmet standing in front of a tent with a violin.

Criteria: USA / UK or any other country during that time.

I have not been successful in my multiple pic search

Would anyone have or have such a pic?

Isn’t there enough violins in war?

HA! Good one.

The “Male” tanks were armed with a pair of quick-firing 6pdr guns in sponsons. The Males also had three .303 Lewis guns for secondary armament.

The “Female” Mk. IVs were armed with .303 Lewis guns (total of five).

Well, I have to tread lightly, and watch my mouth, as sometimes I seem like I have Turrets Syndrome.

But Now...a word from our Sponson.

Plenty of photos of soldiers with violins in WWI. But WWI being fought mostly in trenches and in the ruins of bombed out buildings, it’s the tents that are not seen so much.

Isn’t there enough violins in war?

And not enough sax.

You can try the Imperial War Museum and the Royal Air Force Museum in UK.

I did a reprint of a WWI aircraft book and obtained large size glossy prints from original negatives.

Specifically any pic of a soldier w/helmet standing in front of a tent with a violin.

That's a very specific request. May I ask why that particular specification?

I knew about art school, but I didn’t realize Hitler was also a frustrated musician.

You should have seen him tap dance. If he could have just done that movie with Shirley Temple, he wouldn’t have had to take his frustrations out in a world war.
