A Cobb County police lieutenant has been moved to administrative duty after dash-cam footage appeared to show the officer telling a driver, Remember, we only kill black people.
Lieutenant Greg Abbot pulled over a driver for a DUI check. When he asked her to grab her cellphone, she told him she was nervous about moving her hands, because she had just seen way too many videos, reported Channel 2 Action News.
Abbot then responded, But, youre not black. Remember, we only shoot black people. We only kill black people, right? All the videos youve seen, have you seen the black people get killed?

He is so screwed.
stupid thing to say but I understand why he did it...
she was white but convinced the police just shot unarmed people out of hand...
and so he reassured her by saying the police don’t shoot whit people just black...
he was sarcastic...he was tired of all the lies and attacks on the police...
he should be reprimanded but not fired or unduly punished...
I said the same thing about a year ago after watching a short video of a black yelling at a policeman. The cop retorted “Sir, if the police wanted you dead, we would simply stop patrolling your neighborhood. One of your neighbors would do the deed for us sooner or later.”
Yes, I expect him to be canned but what he really has is a raffish sense of humor. What a shame.
He has a sense of humor, which probably helps him be a good officer, so he gets canned......Priceless!
It was obvious sarcasm - the opposite of what he really thought. Does’t matter. He’s White. He said “Black.” Canned.
“I expect him to be canned.........”..
It’s in the works as his employer’s attorneys rush to get the proper wording on his “resignation” papers.
Unfortunately, in today’s PC world a sarcastic sense of humor (I have one myself) is something society can no longer laugh at or with. The officer screwed himself.
Local tv station uncovered the video in a freedom of information request. Not sure what they’re looking for.
>Never use humor or sarcasm around liberals... they just dont get that its not literal.
I hate these liberal fascists.
>I figure he was being sarcastic, but that subject is way too loaded to make any public jokes about. To do so while wearing the uniform was poor judgement.
Glad you’re with the liberal fascists. Pick your your SJW arm band and Antifa black hood and jack boots from the table on the right.
> He did his fellow police officers a huge disservice.
How so? How do jokes harm anyone?
It’s the witch hunting liberal fascists that do the harm.
This is akin to making jokes about bombs in an airport. If you’re stupid enough to do it you will suffer the inevitable consequences. And I will have very little sympathy for you.
>This is akin to making jokes about bombs in an airport.
You don’t make jokes about it an airport because bombs are a real danger. Cops are twice as likely to shoot a white suspect than a black suspect.
>If youre stupid enough to do it you will suffer the inevitable consequences.
I’m glad you approve of living in a messed up country that destroys people over jokes.
>And I will have very little sympathy for you.
I detest people who grow like licking the boot that’s kicking them.
Amen.
Go ahead, genius, make jokes in public about shooting black people. I’m sure it will make you very popular. Better yet, why don’t you make a funny monologue and post it online?
I think you’re right. When I heard the story, the two radio talk show hosts were crucifying him.
My take was that the woman was nervous and the police officer was trying to de-escalate the situation and get the driver to relax a little. Unfortunately, he used some gallows humor which was pounced on by the SJW types.
That kind of banter is probably part of the natural joshing and interplay among officers who take risks when they go on patrol.
But to the humorless left, it’s just a reason to attack.
Injudicious use of sarcasm, Lt. Abbott.
He was being sarcastic ace.
But it was still stupid cause he’s out of a job
He was being sarcastic
