An Indiana elementary school teacher stirred controversy after sending a letter home to parents asking them to tell their children not to talk about God in the classroom.
An unnamed first-grade teacher at McCordsville Elementary School sent a letter home to parents on Aug. 23 saying a group of about five students had mentioned the words God, Jesus and Devil during a conversation in class, and that it wasnt the appropriate place to be holding a theological debate.

Fixed subject line:
Indiana teacher asks first-graders to stop talking about God in class (unless He’s transgender)
“,,,or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; ,,,”
God is weeping.
That should be on the return note
The taxpayers who pay the teacher’s salaries should have the ability to fire the teachers. This is most definitely taxation without representation.
I know McCordsville pretty well. It is a buffer region between the hood (Lawrence) and the second most prestigious area around indy (Geist). Reggie Miller along with other high income people live(d) in Geist. McCordsville is 2/3rds KY and 1/3rd MA. I think teach will not be teaching much longer. Will be sent into Lawrence where metal detectors are prevalent in schools. Pray for teaches survival... or not.
First graders debate?
The “usual suspect teacher” is an atheist, unless otherwise proven, in submitted writing by said “teacher”.
Parents are the FIRST teachers in a child’s life, so if they decide to instruct little Jimmy/Jeannie in religious manners, it is no business of the taxpayer-paid/clothed/fed teacher what the kids said in a discussion.
My 1st thought also. IMO that was just an excuse to try to get it stopped because the “teacher” didn’t like it.
Any place created by God is the appropriate place to discuss Him. There's no debate. It's been settled. ✝️
“It was a learning experience for the teacher.”
If the teacher learned anything, how come I didn’t read anything to the teacher making an apology in front of the class to the students she attempted to deprive of their free speech rights, as well as the letter of apology she should have sent to the parents?
Fire her asap. We had prayer and pledge of allegiance daily.
So children can’t talk about God, and Jesus in class. But, I’m sure this teacher wouldn’t say a word is a muslim boy came to class and talked about muhammed, and allah.
My letter back:
Dear “Teacher”,
No.
Your move.
L
This is why, even though I am a public school administrator, I send my children to a private Christian school.
I looked at the school website and here are the first grade teachers. The names are: Karen Feder, Shona Kelly, Ashley McClleland, Laura McWilliams, and Brooke Watkins. Do not see any Moslem looking names. Research on these folks could narrow it down as to who might be the lefty propagandist.
No pic of Kelly but the other four are white.
Funny how “diversity!” always seems to negatively impact Christians, isn’t it?
