North Korea launched at least one missile (and possibly more) over North Japan, specifically, the island of Hokkaido.
Here, in red, is Hokkaido, a very populated island (5+ million) almost directly connected to mainland Japan:
This is a belligerent Act of War. To put it in more relatable terms, it is if I pulled a pistol, aimed it in the general direction of your head, and fired -- purposefully missing by twelve inches.
There are rumors that FatBody Jong-un is having some internal power struggles, and is purging his capitol city of people.
But whatever the situation in Pyongyang, the truth of the matter is that North Korea just committed a true Act of War.

Not sure they want it. I’m thinking they probably don’t.

If we have a functioning EMP weapon as is speculated, now might be a good time to test it out a little. How would they know if we EMP'd them? I guess we could drop pamphlets, too.

And our response so far....
I am hoping there are serious back channel things going on

By next Wednesday the Hello Kitty version would be on the shelves. With three options: 10Kt, 20Kt and the deluxe 165Kt thermonuclear upgrade.

Do we have a functioning anti missile defense system ? Are we capable of shooting down NORK missiles? THEN WHY THE HELL ARNT WE DOING IT??? The red line is set by our political leaders so I have no answer for you on that part of the question but our radar systems can calculate trajectories and impact points in relatively early stages of flight. I am guessing that we did not see the need to expend a very expensive interceptor and also show the Norks our true capabilities on a payload that we knew was going into a broad ocean area.

Quite likely they already have it, in ready to assemble kits. That way they can deny having weapons, which of course, is not the same as saying they cannot whip one up wiki wiki.
To: BenLurkin
Give Japan the bomb. I'll bet they've already got the parts... just waiting to get word to assemble.

If we issued the permission now, they'd have 100 fully-functional, fully-fittable-to-missile nuclear weapons in 8 hours. Time to issue permission...
