This happens all the time. It's just not reported by principals wanting to preserve the false image that their schools are safe. And I personally know that this situation, and many almost as bad, with students offering physical violence or threats thereof, occur daily in NYC schools. Bloomberg started this trend by empowering students to write false statements which actually COULD lead to their teacher being fired. Now, adult professionals are not believed, and your students are your bosses. Obviously, they are not mature enough to handle this sort of power and it is abused daily. Told to put your cell phone away? Get a few of your buddies to write a completely fictitious statement that the teacher "touched you" or "made you feel bad". That's all it takes, especially if you're a veteran (read: "expensive and tenured") teacher, to be put up on totally false charges, have student "witnesses" be found totally credible and you and other adults speaking on your behalf not credible.

As far as physical assault, nowadays, teachers are on their own. Hush hush, sweep it under the carpet. Can't tell you how many times I was threatened, shoved, chest butted, had a physical object waved in my face, etc. Sometimes I'd come home covered in bruises. But I never backed down. To do so would have been inviting worse from the students.

THIS is what it's like to be in the classroom now.

Let me guess. . . . No, no need to guess.

And the “students” leave school with no marketable skills and no economic future. Then we blame the educational system for the failure. To be sure, the NEA and the left have acted to ruin the academics, but the lack in in-class discipline is equally to blame.

Reading the story, I thought back to how many times I was physically struck by a teacher. It was several. Only one was what I would call excessive or not deserved. He was a young male gym teacher, and I called him out for being too friendly with the girls. He went nuts. Probably a molester.

A friend of mine briefly worked as a substitute teacher in LA. The final straw for her was when a group of students threatened to rape her in the parking lot.

Nothing will happen to the perp. Notice that the teacher’s face hit the student’s fist . . . not the other way around.

... knocking him to the ground, and then continuing the beating.

There is only one group of "teens" who lack any conscience and ruthlessly beat someone on the ground in a totally defenseless position.

Kids today are being held to account for their actions.

The problems all started when schools denied the teacher the ability to use corporal punishment.

I remember little nuns, at least two feet shorter than some of their students, being able to keep order in the classroom.

I didn’t expect to see the student better attired than the teacher.

Another thing I find interesting about these videos is how the other students just sit there and don’t do anything. In my day, I guarantee you some of my classmates would have secured the assailant.

I’ll bet the kid has a rap sheet 20 feet long. Anger management issues.

Hopefully, jail time with “Bubba the Beautiful” will cure him of that.

That sounds like being up against Antifa or MS13 with the victim armed only with a sternly worded folded up note.
Pretty soon, most the teachers will be foreign born, because most Americans would have stopped putting themselves on the chopping block. Maybe that trend has already started.

Even the Kool-Aid drinking libs will tire of the racism and abuse. Ironic, since it was the libs who facilitated this scene anyway, by aiding and abetting violent, ignorant behavior.

Public schools exist for a reason.
“Educating” kids like the perp is the reason.

...they arrested the student, who could face possible charges of battery...

And therein lies the problem. This kid needs to spend hard time in jail and think about what it means to attack someone else. Good thing I'm not the judge.

When I was in 5th grade, I witnessed a cow-like female “student” try to stab an elderly teacher with a pencil. The “student”, who was considerably larger (i.e. older) than her classmates, was never seen again after that incident. Back then, there were “reform schools” to deal with these junior criminals.

I learned a lot that day.

Big city teachers are all progressives, are all in unions, love their top-down bureaucracy, constantly tell us about their leftist, diverse, loving bona fides. They all get guaranteed pensions and health-care, work about 190 days a year.

As far as I am concerned, they had a big hand in creating this problem.

I am finding it difficult to care.
