Live long and prosper: William Shatner creates portrait of Spock composed of Trekkie selfies in tribute to Leonard Nimoy.
William Shatner has created the ultimate tribute to his former Star Trek co-star Leonard Nimoy - a portrait of Spock composed entirely of Trekkie selfies.
The incredible picture is made up of thousands of fans giving the Vulcan 'live long and prosper' salute in a moving homage to Nimoy who passed away aged 83 in February of this year.
Shatner, who played Captain Kirk in the original sci fi series, appealed for the selfies on Twitter earlier this month without letting on what the pictures were for.

LLAP
TJ Hooker is coming to ME-TV. Shatner as a cop. Not a half bad 80s sitcom.

I liked Kerr Avon.

ME-TV to the rescue!
You missed one of his comedy turns. He was hilarious as "The Big Gant Head" on Third Rock from the Sun.
Never saw “Third Rock.” Was his character anything like “The Head” in Quark with Richard Benjamin?
Don’t know - never saw Quark.
Look it up. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
I have the album, which thankfully does not contain the accompanying video.
It’s hard enough listening to Shatner doing “Mr. Tambourine Man.”
How about Shatner’s version of “Rocket Man?”
Awesome
I’ve been told that I look like a composite of Steven Tyler, Lyle Lovett and Clint Howard up close. I don’t attract the women they do ‘cause I don’t have a big bank account. :(
If on B7 could have gotten some resources, like old Dr. Who.
Apparently I’ve subscribed to you already.
I’ve never met any of the 7 crowd. My experiences are limited to DragonCons and I haven’t been in many years.
That’s great your stuff was appreciated by Terry.
The biggest things I can say were crossing the street with Denise Crosby, getting an autograph as a wedding present from Peter Jurasik, an elevator ride with Ron Glass and the general from Stargate.
One of the experiences that meant the most was meeting Martin Landau. That was a long time ago. Probably the last DC I went to.
B7 actors were heavily handled, unlike the Dr Who ones I met at Scorpio. Never met any of the Trek people except for autograph lines. Darrow wrote to EVERYBODY! Many of the fans close to him were extremely rich and interested in investing in new B7 stuffies. They handled access. Husband and I were in an elevator and Paul and Janet got on. Paul introduced his wife to my husband and I and they got out. Husband stopped nearby and told me he was shaking. It was sort of like that around that set of people. The fans I liked were not the ones that hung out with the celebrity crowd, but the people who created things. In the early days, the celebrity fans were the ones who had the recordings that weren’t available. I slept under a dining room table for two days to get copies of a bunch of British stuff that today you’d call unwatchable. Husband and I took turns sleeping and recording. But except for getting opportunities to show my videos to the people in them, fan cons were the good cons to attend, and usually the smaller the better. The people I hung with were the artists and writers and vid makers. DragonCon sounds wonderful. There were the most phenomenal dragon artists. I do remember being EXTREMELY turned off by Marion Zimmer Bradley. Really bad news. I loved Ron Glass! That sounds neat. But really, it’s the other fans, isn’t it?
The crowds at the last time were insane.
DragonCon kept getting more and more regimented.
I rolled camera on some of the parade which was really interesting and well done.

Here in Columbia, some local people are trying to make a ComicCon here. I think this will be the third one coming up.
It’s got a long way to go to get any names. I don’t rule out that some might come if grows legs.
I’d like to see it do something.
Come to find out I know a mother of one of the organizing ladies. I used to work at the same place.
