B7 actors were heavily handled, unlike the Dr Who ones I met at Scorpio. Never met any of the Trek people except for autograph lines. Darrow wrote to EVERYBODY! Many of the fans close to him were extremely rich and interested in investing in new B7 stuffies. They handled access. Husband and I were in an elevator and Paul and Janet got on. Paul introduced his wife to my husband and I and they got out. Husband stopped nearby and told me he was shaking. It was sort of like that around that set of people. The fans I liked were not the ones that hung out with the celebrity crowd, but the people who created things. In the early days, the celebrity fans were the ones who had the recordings that weren’t available. I slept under a dining room table for two days to get copies of a bunch of British stuff that today you’d call unwatchable. Husband and I took turns sleeping and recording. But except for getting opportunities to show my videos to the people in them, fan cons were the good cons to attend, and usually the smaller the better. The people I hung with were the artists and writers and vid makers. DragonCon sounds wonderful. There were the most phenomenal dragon artists. I do remember being EXTREMELY turned off by Marion Zimmer Bradley. Really bad news. I loved Ron Glass! That sounds neat. But really, it’s the other fans, isn’t it?

The crowds at the last time were insane.

DragonCon kept getting more and more regimented.

I rolled camera on some of the parade which was really interesting and well done.

Here in Columbia, some local people are trying to make a ComicCon here. I think this will be the third one coming up.

It’s got a long way to go to get any names. I don’t rule out that some might come if grows legs.

I’d like to see it do something.

Come to find out I know a mother of one of the organizing ladies. I used to work at the same place.

At one DC, me and my wife somehow were talking to Nichelle Nichols in some room. She was super nice.

My favorite is Claudia Christian. Ivanova has no equal.

My wife corresponded with Erin Gray some a long time ago. Erin is another class act.

Just about all the B5/Crusade crowd were always talkative and fan friendly.

What few Stargate people I met were really good too.

I ran into so many and it’s all a blur at times.

The most surprising personality was Traci Lords.

She had long lines the first year that were crazy and it wasn’t a big deal to me.

The next year she was back and this older co-irker of mine begged me to get her autograph. My wife thought it was good natured enough.

She didn’t have the crowd the second time around when we dropped by. Traci was actually very personable and was really amused about how my pal was so desperate for an autograph. We all hung around for a few minutes.
