Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino on Wednesday vetoed legislation aimed at protecting illegal immigrants because he believes it could result in the county being labeled as a sanctuary municipality, risking millions in federal funds.
Mr. Astorino said the legislation would jeopardize public safety and cost taxpayers $13 million.
If you end up in our jail for committing a crime, and youre not here legally, were not providing a sanctuary for you, Mr. Astorino said.

The local LaRaza-like groups had all the poor “victims” showing up at public hearings with their Spanish chants and signs saying that no one is illegal. I am glad to see that all of the comments on the Wall Street Journal’s site regarding this issue were overwhelmingly supportive of the veto. Perhaps there is hope in my blue state.

Astorino ran for Guv against Marxist andy Cuomo and got no support from the GOP that wanted Cuomo to win.
Sadly, you are correct. Krispy Kreme Chris Christie pledged support in the beginning, but then that POS got a call from Cuomo setting him straight.
There is a great line from the last season of Netflix’s House of Cards that basically says about elected officials ‘no one will ever tell you how to vote, but they make it known what happens when you don’t vote the way that the powers that be expect you to.’
This is the state of politics in our country from Washington all the way down to the local level. And we the people are the ones who get screwed.
