Trump’s horrifying ‘take three’ on Charlottesville (#NeverTrump Alert)
NY Post ^ | August 15, 2017 | John Podhoretz

Posted on 08/15/2017 11:29:34 PM PDT by Oshkalaboomboom

On Tuesday afternoon we learned yet again that the president of the United States is against neo-Nazis, which is nice. They’re “very rough,” he said at an impromptu Trump Tower press conference — by which he likely meant some of the people he saw on TV in Charlottesville this past Saturday had beards and leather jackets and swastika tattoos and were overweight.

The night before, by contrast, Trump said there had been some “very good people” rallying with “a permit” by a statue of Robert E. Lee in Charlottesville. Maybe he thought so because the photographs we all saw showed clean-cut young men in Polo shirts and Dockers.

The rest of us also saw them engaging in Nazi salutes and carrying torches.

Those images seem to have eluded the president.

The president suggested many had been there on Friday night because they cared deeply about the fact that a Robert E. Lee statue in a Charlottesville park is due to be moved.

Trump did not note that they were not locals with aesthetic concerns but rather had been summoned from all over the country under the slogan of “Unite the Right.”

The ad promoting the “Unite the Right” rally, which ran on far-right websites all week, did not even mention the statue. It was designed to evoke a Fascist poster with birds similar to the Nazi eagle in the sky over the marchers and Confederate flags taking the place of swastikas.

It invited people to join speakers like Mike Enoch, who hosts a podcast called “The Daily Shoah.” And Augustus Invictus, an alt-right figure who once said, “I have prophesied for years that I was born for a Great War; that if I did not witness the coming of the Second American Civil War I would begin it myself.”

It used to be that the Left engaged in Mcarthyite character assassination by lumping anyone who disagreed with them as Nazis and Holocaust deniers so if you were against gun control that put you in the same category as the Aryan Nation or if you were a member of Free Republic you were automatically also a member of Stormfront. Those days are long gone. Now it's so-called Conservatives like Podhoertz and Charles Krauthammer who have bought themselves broad brushes to use on the President and anybody who would happen to agree with him. Trump's bigggest contribution to the Republican party has been to root these people out.

Trump is living rent free in Leftist heads.

What’s more folks, so are we.

All the money Soros has blown on rioters and full-time professional racists, the universities he has turned, and Trump is still president and we are still in it to win it.

How frustrating this must be for that ——head.

Losers lose.

The few “Nazi” and “Klan” “protestors” were probably Soros-paid left wing agitators trying to discredit conservatives and by extension Trump.

The same thing happened at the early TEA party marches, when agitators with signs calling Obama the “n” word, etc. were amongst the true TEA Party people. Paid agitators from the left, pretending to be conservatives. Fortunately, the true TEA party people recognized them for who they were and tossed them out of the rally.

There is a thread here on FR about so-called “Unite the Right” organizer Jason Kessler. Turns out he is an Occupy Wall Street protestor and Obama supporter.

The Press ( cough vomit) is doing everything it can to tie average Joe Smith Conservative to Nazis. Trump put them in their place today. My anger with him during the week was over this, today we won me back Big Time.

Bald-faced, shameless, Olympic-level liars used to be exceptional—The Rapist and his lesbian wife—and of course, Barry Soetoro.

Now, EVERYONE WHO OPPOSES TRUMP is a bald-faced, shameless liar.

The fact that NO obviously, reliably honest human being opposes Trump tells me all I need to know about Trump.

When did the media or these necon pretenders ever demand Obama denounce the racist, antisemitic Farrakhan.

There was all kinds of “alt-right” groups that went to Charlottesville, and no matter what any of us thing of some of them, not all of them were “White Supremacists”, which is NOT to say that White Supremacists should not be condemned.

Yet here’s the duplicity.

There were racist black nationalists, Farrakhan supporters, Communists and Marxists of every stripe in the so-called “protests” early this year in Washington D.C.

When did the media condemn the protests in their entirety, with guilt by association for the presence and the invited speakers of such groups? Never. When did any phony GOPers now claiming moral indignation over Trumps comments do so? Never.

You see when it comes to radicals who should not be given the time of day and with whom it should be a moral outrage to associate with, there is always a Marxist/Progressive/Liberal double standard that is calling the moral outrage agenda. That moral outrage is selective, and intellectually dishonest. It suggests the radicals that hang out with “the Left” are morally superior to the radicals that claim to be supporting anyone else.

What is now the media agenda and false narrative is that Trump refuses to condemn the bigots. That is a lie, he has. What the media, the left and many others think they can get away with is not condemning the “antifa” outfits, that claim to be “anti fascist” and yet whose behavior all this year has been totally fascist, and violent in every encounter anyone has had with them, from riots in college cities and elsewhere.

No, Trump has not given anyone a pass on bigotry or violence. The narrative he will not join is forgiving the fascist tactics of the “antifa” outfits and their violence.

From day one the “antifa” outfits have been about shutting down the free speech of anyone who they don’t like, and lumping everyone who disagrees with them as “fascist”, while they have employed fascist tactics of violent intimidation.

If what the “antifa” outfit is doing is morally right, then would it be equally morally right for groups to always be protesting around any event, speech or appearance of the racist Black Nationalist Farrakhan? How is it that the Conservative approach has been to mostly ignore him and certainly not trail him around the country protesting him and trying to shut his right to free speech down, because IT IS RACIST.

Why? Because the Conservative approach has been the opposite of the Left-Fascist “antifa” approach, in the manner of “I may disagree entirely with what you say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it”.

I think Trump understands that better than his detractors, and certainly believes that more than the media and 100% more than the “antifa” outfit.

When you accept your opponents’ false premise in order to avoid controversy, as Trump did in his second statement, you put yourself in a logical trap where you have to defend the other side to be consistent. It was antifa that carried out a plan of violence all day. They are to blame. Trump was right to correct himself.

The scary thing is Trump commented on the facts in a rationale manner, and this is deemed unacceptable. It is demanded we adopt a make believe left wing narrative.
