Adults in the United States are dying from colon and rectal cancers at an increasing rate about age 50, when they should just be beginning screenings, according to a new study from the American Cancer Society.
Since routine screening is generally not recommended for most adults under 50, the cancers found in younger adults are often in advanced stages and more deadly, said Dr. James Church, a colorectal surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
Church, who was not involved in the new study, said he has seen this trend in death rates up close. Last year, on separate occasions, Church saw two 36-year-olds with stage IV colon cancer, he said.
In both of those patients, who had no relation to each other, the cancer spread to their livers, making it so he couldn't operate. Both died, he said. "They both had young families, both little girls, and they lost their father in one case and their mother in the other, forever, because of this nasty disease when it's advanced," Church said.
"It makes a big impact on me, and it makes me keenly interested in trying to solve this issue," he said. "Everybody in colorectal surgical circles is seeing increased incidence of colon cancer in the young, defined as younger than 50."

Get a real colonoscopy...not a *virtual* one. It don't hurt. The ONLY discomfort is the prep...but even that is worth the effort since you will not die a stupid death...
GMO’s
Just guessing

You betcha. I oughtta know; I've had 10 of 'em, plus a hemicolectomy and resection to get rid of the biggest offending region. I'm a polyp farm, I guess. It runs in the family. But I am alive, 13 years since my first one.
Just the opposite, since organic was the norm before pesticides, and cancer was almost unheard of 100 years ago.
More likely, it is the trash we feed ourselves in our fast food, majority-obese culture. The digestive tract is about 80% of our health. Trash it, and one trashes one’s health. Willing to bet that the average Amish or Whole Foods shopper has lower incidence of cancer (and fatness) than the rest of the population.
A physician where I work says anal sex leads to all kinds of nastiness
oh...and did I mention...
No Exercise!
Proof the left has become a modern day equivalent to a buttsticka. The side effects are a pain in your rear end leading to constipation and colon cancer.
It’s always global warming in the end.
Yep..the preparation is the worst part of it..but once you are sedated you feel nothing..Profofol is awesome trust me Ive been sedated twice with it for procedures its amazing and you remember absolutely nothing..always if you are going to have a colonoscopy get the real deal, even the fecal test..its not totally reliable and IF it comes back positive for blood you have to get a colonoscopy anyway so what are you saving by doing it
Also, take digestive enzymes, a digestive acid supplement (assuming no ulcers) and or apple cider vinegar. All inexpensive ways to better digest food. Also, chew food properly.
The headline is misleading, then. Lots of people know why, but it would cause billion$ in lo$$e$ if the truth came out.
Guess they’re not taking Mr. Hankie’s advice.
This story proves idiocy knows no bounds.
I predicted this. Sadly I had to come to pass.
Those reading it should be worried: Most dont know the reason...i do by nobody cares.
“Sigh”
More gay people; perhaps because of the new “gender” stuff the left is pushing.
In case people have forgotten; Bill Clinton started a fad; more and more young women were kissing than allowing normal sex to occur.
Result; instant mouth cancers; rashes .. people should realize these areas of the body are very prone to bacteria; regardless of how often you shower or brush your teeth.
I'm betting there has been a huge increase in this. They even have articles in magazines explaining how to do it right the first time. All this stuff about gays being normal is pushing a lot of other bigger problems as if being gay wasn't a big enough issue.
Anyway, freepers, be very aggressive about getting tested, and be prepared to pay for mammograms, colonoscopies, etc out of your own pocket if you have to — even if you're broke. (I've paid for my own mammograms when insurance said I was too young and had no family history.) Even if I had to put tests on credit cards...at least I'll be alive to pay off the debt.

The punchline from from a very old joke:
“Turn her over, son, turn her over.”
