That was my first thought.
After obozo got the POTUS I am sure every 2 bit congressperson in the world said to themselves “if that 2 bit congressman can get POTUS, so can I.”
Frankly, Trump coming from the private sector makes it look even MORE attainable.
No one is going to sacrifice themselves (which means they would have to campaign badly on purpose and make themselves look worse than the nearby dem) for a bass-ackwards wing and a prayer.

The deadlines for filing for the primaries in each state will be fun to count down. Pro-Trump challengers will wait til the last week, make the incumbents sweat.

Tactically, the problem always lies in the senate. In the 2018 elections, the Democrats and some of the liberal RINOs seats may change hands in favor of conservatives.
Add to that right now, Jeff Sessions Georgia seat will likely go to arch-conservative Roy Moore, and senator Menendez is likely to lose his seat because of the criminal corruption case against him.
Put these things together, and there will be no way there could be a 2/3rds majority in the senate to convict.
This means all the disloyal Republicans can hope for is an “impeachment” by a simple majority of the house. All this would accomplish would be to force a comprehensive purge of the RINO house Republicans. Once identified, they will have their campaign funding cut off, and their primary opponents will be sponsored.
I don’t think this will succeed, but it’s clear that the muh Russia and do-nothings are trying everything they can to make Trump - and us - fail.

In order to “throw” the election, then some members of congress will have to willingly lose. Since congresses number one job is to get re-elected, which congressmen do you think are volunteering to lose their coveted congressional seats?
