Am up in DC from Florida for my old firm's (I'm a retired Senior Partner) "Tennis and Tom Collins" Summer party. About 400 people here.
Please understand, as soon as something becomes official or public news in Washington, it is no longer very interesting here. DC is all about rumors and the next day's news.
For example, as soon as the stories about Monica became public on that Monday night, ("everyone" here knew the previous Friday) the really interesting stories all revolved around "would he admit it on TV and ask for forgiveness or would Hillary insist on legal ropa-dopa.
PS, Hillary won v. Bill, as she always does. She wasn't upset at all about his screwing Monica.... and all the others.... just that he got caught.... again!
Now the hot rumor tonight is that Sessions will (semi-)gracefully go to Homeland Security and Gulianni will be brought in to kick ass and take names at Justice.
Nothing to substantiate it, but it is the pervasive hot story here tonight.
P.S. A certain old Congressman's child bride is more than way too hot and way too drunk in her little white tennis shorts that end up about 2 feet above her knees. She could probably play a good game of tennis, but certain bi-lateral, plastic surgeon-installed physical attributes get in the way of every one of her backhands!
Most wives and female partners/associates are pizzed. Mrs. Strac and her friends are just laughing at all of them.
Replacement AG will be Rachel Brand. She’s a conservative. Friend of Ted Cruz family.
Yes Jay would be great!
First, the Prez is the person who would fire Mueller, but would be political suicide. Secondly, Dems to not have the balls to oppose RJ.
Uh, how can the Democrats alone keep the Senate open?
(Yeah, I know the answer.)
“They will hold pro forma sessions to prevent recess appointment.”
I doubt it.
That would be an overt act of aggression from McConnell.
If Sessions doesn’t get fired everybody will be happy.
Uh, how can the Democrats alone keep the Senate open?
(Yeah, I know the answer.)
Won’t McCabe step aside when Wray is sworn in ?
The goal is not to fire Mueller. The goal is to limit his investigstion to the election. Mueller will report to the new (unrecused) AG.
Ya know... You never saw Ringo Starr and Yasser Arafat together. Just saying..
Thank you for sharing that very special rendition.
Not gonna happen. Sessions stays as Attorney General (is doing a great job)...Trump himself should fire Robert Mueller and all his Democrat low life lock-step lawyers. The Media, the Democrat Party, the Republican Establishment scum & vermin will go bonkers, and cry foul and illegal,....but, who cares, not the American people, who would just love to see Trump fire this nutcase Mueller. And, when Trump fires Mueller, AAG, Rosenstein will immediately resign or be fired by Trump. Mr. Rosenstein...please do not let the door hit you on the way out.
Then Sessions should appoint a new Special Counsel to go after, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, Barack Hussein Obama, Debbie Wasserman Shultz, etc., all them felons that belong behind bars for many years. DJT....do it!!!
Listened to his interview on Tucker Carlson from Thursday night.
He made a compelling case for whats he has done to date, which is plenty.
Unfortunately, he also said the “law” required that he recuse himself, and that an AG who doesn’t follow “the law” isn’t going to be a good AG.
Somebody should clue this guy in that the “law” is whatever the guy in the black robe says it is.
Sessions has caused great harm, and is not willing to go after the criminals in the Clinton/Obama mafia.
He needs to go.
How can they do that as a minority party....?
Agree to fire Mueller would feed impeachment talk like nothing before. Limiting the scope of his investigate would end it and make whiny Democrats even more obvious to voters. A new AG could handle that.
“Sessions is really doing a great job”
By doing a great job you mean he is not upsetting the apple cart?
(Strategically, it's known as decimating and demoralizing their farm teams.)
Also, unlike corrupt-as-Hell Comey, I don't think Sessions is holding public press conferences to announce his next moves.
I agree.
Leave Sessions alone.
Correct.
And didn’t Rudy strongly reject the offer of being AG prior to Trump’s inauguration or before he chose his cabinet? Rudy wanted SecofState.....If my 72 year old memory is working......
Holding pro forma sessions to prevent recess appointments must be an option even the minority has.
