Justin Bieber pulled the plug on his Purpose tour because he "rededicated his life to Christ" ... sources connected to Hillsong Church tell TMZ. Bieber's decision seemed to come out of the blue, but our sources say it was squarely based on what Bieber believes is religious enlightenment. Bieber said he canceled due to exhaustion, but that's simply not true. Plus, his remaining touring schedule was not taxing travel-wise.
We're also told Bieber's crew is "incredibly pissed off at him" because it has impacted their financial well-being without any warning.
Bieber has been virtually joined at the hip with Hillsong pastor Carl Lentz over the last few months -- including at a huge church event in Australia -- but we're told Lentz did not advocate for cancelling the tour.
Good, if true.
Yes, good for him.
If this is true, Bieber has chosen wisely.
I Should have put this in “Religion” Forum , but I knew “News” was not right Forum ( or was it?)
I hope true.
I never pay attention to the forum. :-)
General/chat works for me!
Bieber started off as a good kid and got corrupted along the way. If he has found his way back good for him.
My bieber is stuned.
If true, this could have a good effect on his young fans.
When one reaches out. Good on him.
That’s a switch.
Usually it a goody-goody Christian (Hello Katy Perry!) who becomes a pop star slut.
Truth is - there are probably lots of Disney stars and other pop stars who don’t whore themselves out (Hello Miley Cyrus!) - we just don’t hear about them.
Beiber is a troubled young adult. Many like him have no Christian support or influence. He is a blessed kid to have this chance and would be smart to get serious.
To heck with his grumpy band boys. They are not respecting anything connected to his spiritual welfare, but their own income.
I thought his persona was secular but not really trashy. Not enough to cancel a tour. Oh well...good for him.
This is great. What’s also great is that I clicked expecting to see some self righteous sneering, and saw a lot of support for him instead. Way to go, Freepers.
>>Good, if true.<<
Agreed.
If true, that’s good, but the responsible thing to do would have been to give his crew at least a six month notice that their income levels were about to change dramatically.
This sort of makes it look like a spontaneous remark made by someone who has found a new spiritual leader, that leader being Carl Lentz, pastor of the Hillsong Church. A spontaneous remark, made in the emotion of the moment, that Bieber will end up walking back before the month is over.
I hope to be wrong.
Somehow reading the name "Justin Bieber"
and the phrase "joined at the hip"
gives me a wince.
Who knows, BIEBER may become an evangelist.
