"YOU said your administration would not pursue Hillary. And even though I personally disagree with Sessions recusing himself, you've no more loyal person. He was the first senator to endorse you. He campaigned for you. He left the Senate to serve you. Sessions is pursuing your agenda at DOJ. And if you think you'll do better, I believe you're wrong. Besides, the Senate has to confirm whomever you nominate."
Sessions might be less aggressive than Trump would like, but he hired him. Trump is coming out looking worse than Sessions on this public display of disappointment.
I get that you stand with Jeff. But help me out here...where exactly does “Jeff” stand? And why does “Jeff” not appoint his own Special Counsel to investigate the Clinton Foundation and the Comey leaks???
His recused himself from the Russia fiasco...not the Clinton Crimes.
Well neither is the GOP helping with nay of those things.
And Trump is just recusing himself from Sessions.
Stop thinking rationally please. This is a Kool-Aid thread.
If Trump says his AG, that he appointed, is not doing a good job then dammit it’s not Trump’s fault that he appointed him! Sessions was a plant, probably put there by Priebus. Either way, he needs to go! No conservatives welcomed, just populists!
So you, like Levin, believe Sessions is “pursuing” Trump’s agenda?
Why doesn’t Trump just fire Sessions? Why must it be a public discourse for him?
Is he the little whining dog on the left or the right these days?
So you, like Levin, believe Sessions is “pursuing” Trump’s agenda?
I agree with Mark on this one.
I don’t see how it benefits Trump to be tweeting about this. By all means, I think there is a good case for canning Sessions.
But I also think that the unnecessary drama created by tweeting about it doen’t do Trump any good. If he wants to fire Sessions, he should just do it. What is to be gained by publicly humiliating him?
The oath of office I took was to the Constitution, not a man or a woman.
When you make a bad hire, you fire that person.
It’s real damn simple.
Too bad the GOP voter base seems utterly incapable of learning that bit of wisdom.
Trump keeps attacking Sessions (Alabama) and even said he might have to fire Price (Georgia). All the while he is apparently considering the Obama holdovers to be his team.
Sessions should have told Trump before his confirmation he was going to recuse himself. If one of my employees had done something like that to me, I would have fired them immediately. And I did. Amazing how all of a sudden my employees accepted my way of thinking.
Maybe Ivanka doesn’t want him there?
Go read Rosenstein’s bio and background and then come tell us what’s wrong with it.
Never, never trust a Never-Trumper.
"Get off the phone, you GOPe!"
Marc,
The only way Trump can get rid of Mueller is to have a fully empowered AG.
Sessions recusal neutered control over the necessary investigations and more importantly the unnecessary and counterproductive investigations.
That was not Sessions doing...
That was the deputy AG. Sessions had recused himself from the issue
I agree; it’s time for Sessions to go!!!
He sided against the very president he ostensibly supported, who was so magnanimous to give him the very job he had coveted for his entire career. Instead of being honest about his encounters, he deceived the president and chose to step aside. An AG must protect his president. Currently, President Trump has no protection in his own DOJ.
The DOJ is the worst part of the swamp/sewer and ought to be drained asap.
It may be a mistake to entrust Ted Cruz, but he was mentioned as a replacement for Sessions in yesterday’s WaPo.
I am willing to give ole Ted a chance. I’d bet he wouldn’t waste any more time in initiating investigations into Crooked Hillary’s emails and the myriad Obummer Administration’s malfeasance. Time to prosecute those who are actually guilty of criminal conduct.
BTW, Ted Cruz as AG would render Mark Levin speechless.
I used to respect Mr Levin ... times have changed
