Email from a friend who used to work at BBN:
It may be hard to imagine anyone worse than Elizabeth Warren, but her opponent is, Shiva Ayyadurai.
Shiva has for years been claiming that he invented email. IT was Ray Tomlinson at BBN, years earlier. Shiva will do nothing to back off that claim. Some of the xBBNers tried, even in court. There was much discussion of him when he started his campaign, and all of the xBBNers were warned to not even try to get the truth out, because of his personal viciousness and vindictiveness experienced by some xBBNers.
Shiva said that he invented email and has frequently claimed that because of his dark skin, never got proper recognition or credit.
He is a slick liar, who is starting to fool a lot of voters.
Take a look at this interview with Howie Carr, where he is confronted with his domestic violence arrest:

Also take look at the email controversy part of Shivas Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiva_Ayyadurai
The publications that he conned into believing him the inventor of email published retractions, but Shiva is still making that claim.
Don't vote for him.
Addendum to my previous post: I just read that Diehl co-chaired Trump’s MA campaign, which is something I didn’t know. So that makes me feel better about him.
Trump obviously wouldn’t have hired him if he wasn’t tough... He just seems like a bit of a wimp to me , so we’ll see.
I really hope he has a real plan.
I don’t know who mairdie is but I do know that the Howie Carr show stuff is true.
There is a much better candidate running too. Cannot remember his name.
Being the fake trumper that I am... I visited @realDonaldTrump in The Oval Office today! Is this picture real or photoshopped? pic.twitter.com/5MA8XR362N— Howie Carr (@HowieCarrShow) July 21, 2017
Zip, and I intend to keep it that way...
Brilliant! When I worked in the Boston area, I listened to Howie religiously.
When does this guy claim to have invented e-mail?
I remember using it on a PDP-11/RSX-11M in 1983 or 1984.
You’ll note that your thread has been moved OUT of news and into chat.
Kind of arrogant to post that, before doing some research to find out who she is...
From the Wikipedia article:
Ayyadurai makes the controversial claim to be the “inventor of email”. His claim is based on the software he wrote as a 14-year-old student at Livingston High School (New Jersey). In 1979some sources say 1978he wrote an implementation of an interoffice email system, which he called EMAIL.
...
Writing for Gizmodo, Sam Biddle argued that email was developed a decade before EMAIL, beginning with Ray Tomlinson’s sending the first text letter between two ARPANET-connected computers in 1971.
*******
I was working on government funded computer language design from 1974 to 1980 (HAL/S for the space shuttle language, SPL/I for the Navy, and RED for the DoD-I contest that created Ada - we came in 2nd) and I remember using Arpanet for messaging with colleagues. We were a block down the street from BBN.
Thank you for correcting it.
I was wondering today how you chose that name, and that’s exactly what I came up with - the way a little toddler might say it :-)
I never had children but she stayed with me for months at a time at various times in her life. She’s still nearby and I adore her. It brings me joy every time I see the name and remember her. She’s 57 now, which floors me.
Technicalities play a big part in law.
(After all, OJ didn’t kill his wife and her friend...)
I was at the table for the mock trial in Troy NY as to whether the poem was written by Moore or Livingston. Jeanne came with. Livingston won and the town proclaimed Henry Livingston day.

She is truly the dearest thing. AND SHE VOTED FOR TRUMP. Admittedly, it took a lot of work, but well worth it.
Well, since we’ve been told that this is now in Chat:
I haven’t had time to read everything, but I keep wondering what it was that started you on that investigation: were there family stories/rumors?
I’ve donated to Geoff Diehl, so that’s who I’m voting for.
OK, you may well be right.
It was searching for my father. Mother left him when I was 6 weeks old and I thought if I could find his book of poetry I’d learn who he was. His letter begging her to come back said he’d burnt his mss and the future could do without him. I tracked back his family from an obituary of his mother that said her pallbearer was the governor of Colorado and three generals. I wanted to see if someone had his book and discovered the story of Henry and saw yet another ancestor who was lost and felt this passion to make sure he AND FATHER wouldn’t be forgotten. Research in languages was a simple step to research in poetry and, after learning poetry research, I finally found father’s book. Regular army and a poet. It’s been the most wonderful quest.
I forgot great grandfather. He was a special judge advocate for the Lincoln assassination trial. He was brought to DC by Stanton to run the investigation and put together the Library of Congress records which are in his handwriting. He had a magnificent tomb built for himself on top of a hill and someone stole his brass plaque. His grave was taken over by the forest and my other quest was to get him remembered. A military group took over his grave and a park ranger asked to portray him in Ford Theater, so I’m batting pretty good for the lost ones.
These are the kinds of passions that make life rich ;-)
