IQ costs Oregon parents their kids, but is that fair? (Column)

The nursery in Amy Fabbrini and Eric Ziegler's home is filled with unread children's books and unworn baby clothes. A Winnie the Pooh blanket lies untouched inside a crib where a child has never slept.

For nearly four years, the Redmond couple has been fighting to prove to the state of Oregon that they are intellectually capable of raising their children. The Department of Human Services has removed both of their boys, saying the parents are too mentally limited to be good parents.

Fabbrini, 31, and Ziegler, 38, lost custody of their older son, Christopher, shortly after he was born. Five months ago, the state took their second child, newborn Hunter, directly from the hospital. Both are now in foster care.

"I love kids, I was raised around kids, my mom was a preschool teacher for 20-plus years, and so I've always been around kids," Fabbrini said. "That's my passion. I love to do things with kids, and that's what I want to do in the future, something that has to do with kids."

No abuse or neglect has been found, but each parent has a degree of limited cognitive abilities. Rather than build a network of support around them, the state child welfare agency has moved to terminate the couple's parental rights and make the boys available for adoption.

Looks a lot like State-sponsored Eugenics to me. Pretty damn close.

As soon as one of the kids gets seriously ill, the state will offer their state-appointed guardian the chance to administer a state-sponsored suicide cocktail, in lieu of paying for the child’s health care costs. That’s Oregon, the most pro-death state in the nation.

“But things changed when Christopher arrived – as a total surprise – on Sept. 9, 2013.

Fabbrini said she didn’t know she was pregnant.”

Yet the invaders of our country that are “placed” in communities and showered with every form of welfare and may have very similar IQs, can reproduce at will? At least these American parents know how to use a flush toilet, let’s start by giving them a mark for that!

Do you even know what eugenics is?

Apparently not.

So what if they have an IQ of 10. They will make good Democrat voters.

That is articulate enough to leave me skeptical of the decision to take their children. Half the country is below average, but we don't take all their kids away, not even from those so mindless that they vote for democrats.

Do some research on Child Protective Services and the “foster care” system in various states.

Having read the whole article, (I know, I know) it sounds like her father never bonded with Amy for whatever reason. I could speculate but it would only be speculation. His wife had died recently and maybe he honestly did not think Amy could handle a baby. Or maybe it was something else that prompted him to call the state in.

No matter what once the state has decided on it's story they are locked into it. Not even a sign from God Himself would change their mind.

If not washing your hands is a reason for taking a child away from it's parents then we are all in trouble.

**** According to documents provided by the couple, psychological evaluations tested Fabbrini's IQ at about 72, placing her in the "extremely low to borderline range of intelligence," and Ziegler's about 66, placing him in the "mild range of intellectual disability." The average IQ is between 90 and 110. ****

******************

They should attack this on the basis of race ... the state wants to play games? If they were black they'd be low but not too far off the norm and there'd be absolutely no way the state would take the kids..

This is Oregon. Much more likely they’d accommodate a homosexual couple wanting to adopt than not, and that would be very dangerous from a number of perspectives.

I did a little research for him:

HOW WIDESPREAD A PROBLEM?

One of the most comprehensive surveys of abuse in foster care was conducted in conjunction with a Baltimore lawsuit. Trudy Festinger, head of the Department of Research at the New York University School of Social Work, determined that over 28 per cent of the children in state care had been abused while in the system.

Reviewed cases depicted “a pattern of physical, sexual and emotional abuses” inflicted upon children in the custody of the Baltimore Department.

Cases reviewed as the trial progressed revealed children who had suffered continuous sexual and physical abuse or neglect in foster homes known to be inadequate by the Department. Cases included that of sexual abuse of young girls by their foster fathers, and that of a young girl who contracted gonorrhea of the throat as a result of sexual abuse in an unlicenced foster home.[1]

In Louisiana, a study conducted in conjunction with a civil suit found that 21 percent of abuse or neglect cases involved foster homes.[2]

In terms of IQ, they’re about average for sub-Saharan Africans. Which brings us to immigration policy ....
