A Farscape music video done to Tom Lehrer's "New Math." Basic scifi show premise is funny looking guy trying to learn how to build wormholes from hero, who fell through one, in order to save civilization from the bad nasties.
Farscape was a good series.
It had to watched from the pilot on for things to make sense later.
Farscape is one of my favorite long form sci-fi series, it takes a whole season to get into it, but once you are in it, it pays off massively.
Loved it. Still have Peacekeepers Wars somewhere on my hard drive....
I thought the science fiction was great, but it had more episodes I didn’t want to rewatch than most of the shows I follow. Like killing the previous pilot of the spaceship Moya.
If you don’t mind the bizarreness in the show, the full set of vids is at:

Not for someone who is uncomfortable with weird.
It’s like sitting through a 5 year novel. I love the complexity of the characters and the fact that villains aren’t always villains.
Yesterday was the last day of first grade for my daughter. She showed me her report card. She got top marks in all her math categories. He language skills were low but I am told that is not unusual for a child learning two languages (German & English). We are going to work extra on that in the new school year.
But still, top grades in math, for a 7 year-old girl! :)
The New Math was long before my time... Or to be more specific, it was already being taught in schools when I was growing up.
But maybe it could be altered for common core...
CONGRATULATIONS! That is fantastic! She has the world open in front of her with that focus. Give her a hug from me. Mary
Language is something used everyday, all day. But math at this stage is important because it builds.
Will do. Thank You Mary! :) :) :)
I turn 73 next month, so I’m Old Math. My first masters degree was in education and I was horrified by the woman teaching new teachers to teach math. She assumed they were idiots and made no exceptions. Everything was rote and we were not allowed to question anything she said. I wanted the degree so that I could homeschool if I ever had children. Can’t imagine the terror of entrusting a child to someone else.
The biggest problem for me is the poor audio and the lack of subtitles compounding the problem. Only saving grace is that their are transcripts online. Their sets were wonderful and their effects quite good. Whoever was their art director really knew their business.

Scorpious was a very good example, once you find out his motivations, you find out he was doing everything he could to save the better part of the galaxy from the really bad WORSE big bads...
Love Tom Leher
BFL
I grew to really love Scorpius and Crais. Scorpius was a good example of end justifies means but when the end was stopping universal destruction, he sort of got a pass on means. I loved him smiling as the peace treaty was signed at the end. He won!
I did have trouble with the effect used for the dissolving into crystals and reforming. Alias did a better job of having a body fall apart like that. But the sky effect that Moya flew through was magnificent.
Here’s a playlist of music videos to his songs across a wide range of fandoms:
