Over 30 And Single? Are Your Standards Too High?
Huffington Post UK ^ | 07/12/2017 | Kenty Lichtenberg

The film industry has messed with our relationship perceptions, would you agree? We are constantly expecting to have the perfect, fairy tale relationship - like Hollywood ruined real life relationships didn’t it? We expect to have Chuck and Blair or Allie and Noah love story. But nothing is further from that truth.

We love to imagine that you will traditionally fall in love or that you’ll randomly meet your perfect “other half” in the back of a limo. Sure enough, you will encounter your peak and low moments, but in essence you dream of finding that special soul mate you are supposed to be with, right? We should be able to find our soul mate and have our own fairy tale. Unfortunately, when we look around, even for celebrities, that’s not how real life works because we simply do not exist in a movie/novel/episode, although I am pretty sure we would love that!

Often times you would hear men complain and vent that the women of today are too demanding and that everything revolves around them. We don’t date certain guys because we’re afraid they aren’t our type, and their usual question following this statement is: but how do you know what your type is before you’ve even been on a real date? As a teenager I guess it was acceptable to make a list of the traits that your ideal guy should have, but now as an adult women, we must learn to be less judgmental and more objective...

No.

There is nothing wrong with having high standards. Nor is there anything wrong with being single.

An optimist is one looking forward to marriage. A pessimist is a married optimist.

Black men like white women. White women like asian men. Asian men like real estate.

So... Donald Trump is Asian??

There was a spurious article about one of the famous advice columnists, maybe Abby, who was talking to the rather plain wife of a billionaire. When asked how she kept her husband from straying or looking for “trophy wives”, the wife said “I swallow”.

I really wish I could find the original article but it evades me on Google.

Daniel did not have a choice, he was clipped.

Elishah might have had a family, and left them to serve Elijah.

I do not know of any information, for or against, about John being single.

I think you would look good in big boobs...your male boobs are quite underwhelming.

If you're not a lesbian and have somehow managed to marry an actual male, I pity him. He's either stone cold deaf or a saint, quite possibly both. You've had nothing positive to say about males whatsoever in the 12 years since I signed up to FR.

Paul to the Corinthians:
>>I give the advice above more as a concession than as a command. I wish that all men were like myself, but I realise that everyone has his own particular gift from God, some one thing and some another. Yet to those who are unmarried or widowed, I say definitely that it is a good thing to remain unattached, as I am.<<

What if that tipsy man from that get together last weekend was “the one”, and you totally blew him off just because you don’t think that you can fall in love while under the influence?

She almost said something rational. Making significant decisions while drunk is stupid. On the other hand, deciding to go on a date isn't a significant decision. On the other, other hand, there's no such thing as "the one."

Who are these people, anyway?

Women past 30 don’t bring anything to the table that is worth giving up what I already have. A single woman my age is the most enormous red flag in itself.

Love it! I guess the law of ‘unintended consequences’ just doesn’t matter to most American women today. Oh well, as long as we guys have options, so be it.
