Recently, there was a report posted about the decline of the Denver Public Library, due to rampant drug usage and criminal activity. Apparently, a lot of the library "regulars" are homeless people who have been victimized by drug dealers who take over the bathrooms to do their deals. Other library users complain that the computer terminals are all taken up by the homeless people and back packing vagrants passing through the area, and that the place stinks. Apparently, the Denver Police have increased patrols and at least cleaned it up to some extent. They even closed off the bathrooms on two floors to try to be able to more effectively patrol the building.
It's really sad what has happened to Colorado, and this library situation epitomizes it. I just love the scenery and recreational opportunities offered there. CO used to be such a great state before it was taken over by "smarter than you" liberals.
But now, due to the liberal takeover, the state seems to be a preferred destination for pot loving losers, 60-70 year old burned out hippies, the homeless, and generally trashy people from across the country. If you travel on I-25, even the rest areas are trashy and run down. You'd think they would keep rest areas in good shape, as that is where many people form their opinion of a state.
We recently stayed a night at a Clarion hotel in downtown Greeley, CO. This hotel was said to be a "Convention Center" hotel, although, after staying there, I cannot for the life of me figure out why any company would hold a convention there. The actual hotel room was okay and clean, but the rest of the property was just generally run down, trashy, and in a general state of disrepair. In the men's bathroom near the reception area, there was toilet paper all over the floors, and the handle to the door was barely attached, appearing to be ready to fall off at any time. The areas around the exterior of the hotel were littered with trash of all sorts.
IMO, this story about what has happened with the Denver Library encapsulates what happens when the liberal, elitist Democrats take over a state. Does anybody who lives in CO know if there is any hope for CO turning things around?
Find the original article. This isn’t about pot, but about drugs that cause overdoses. Think heroin.

Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
Look at any public library in any major metropolitan area and it’s surrounded by the homeless.
They use the bathrooms for all their “hygiene” and do occasionally access the free computers.
This is a non-story hyped to mean something about pot.
The Denver Post sucks!
Every once in a while, I will see the Post offering free trial subscriptions at the supermarket. I let them know what I think about the Post (politely of course) and that I might subscribe if the news wasn’t so slanted. They still offer it free and I tell them it would be wasted because I would simply toss it in the recycle bin without reading it.
Drug testing for benefits? Why sir, are you such a meanie?
Sarcasm at it finest
So funny. Did you bother reading the article? Are you capable of digesting the content.
Guess what? The article has nothing to do with marijuana use.
I would avoid the library or any other place if I knew that there were hypodermic needles laying on the floor. Completely unsafe and a person my get hepatitis or AIDS or some other awful disease. These people very likely have some really nasty diseases. I'd hate to work there.
And Hancock and Hickenpooper are turning their heads and not doing a damn thing about it. Oh....they’ll say something like, we’re patrolling the area, after they’re called out on it. Denver and Boulder is now hobo haven and getting worse. I don’t go downtown anymore. My daughter went to CU and said the university library in Boulder allowed hobos to enter also. Shameful.
I yearn for the old days when roadside rest areas were wholesome places where you’d want to bring Grandma. Lol!
I’m shocked, just shocked.
The Pest has been tossing a Sunday paper on the driveways in my neighborhood. It goes into the trash still wrapped.
When I got back I wrote a few posts about it because I was so shell shocked at all I saw.
But, I did add that Idaho still seemed very normal. Though for how long? We know they've been dropping refugees off en masse in these western states. Remember the little girl raped in Idaho (was it Twin Falls?) she was a refugee, the kids that did it were from the Sudan and I believe, Iraq.
Also they've long been flooding smll western towns with drugs. Remember all the Montana/crystal meth stories about 8 years ago? I'd bet the heroin is making a dent in all those places as well.
We have a vacation house in S. Colorado in an extremely rural area. There is a constant crystal meth awareness message displayed on the elementary school sign.
“To add to your post notice how many busy intersections these days are occupied by pan handlers begging motorists for $. One guy recently was a young strapping man wearing an NFL jersey. Pathetic. These beggars at intersections are becoming epidemic.”
I live in a small town area in a state in the Midwest, east of the Mississippi. Most weekends I make a trip to the local shopping district in the town which is right off a state route, not even an interstate. Each and every time I can be sure to find panhandlers at the exit lifting “Homeless - Help me - God Bless” signs. Some of them even have the gall to write “Veteran” on their signs. That we allow this to go on at all is a national disgrace. Whatever happened to the idea that you don’t allow panhandling, like Giuliani’s practice of issuing tickets to squeegee bums. This stuff should be stopped altogether as it is unsafe for traffic flow and personally threatening.
Another thing I am noticing--we are getting epidemic (one a week) wrong way drivers on the freeways. Also, just other crazy traffic accidents. L=
Many times, it is someone over 50 and they finally report on the toxicology report and the person is on a frikking massive mixture of stuff. Narcotic pain crap, xanax, anti-depressants, alcohol, etc. etc.
One lady recently was 63 and I couldn't believe all the crap she was on.
The country is going to Pot...Colorado was a great state in 1980..left in 2000..
Florida is next on the Pot train..
If the library bums had been using marijuana, they would have turned into bats.
I’m sorry, but it doesn’t seem sad to me when someone reaps what they have knowingly sown. They knew what they were asking for, they deserve it, and they got it.
>>It didnt take long for things to escalate once the security guard asked the two sleeping homeless men to leave the McDonalds...
