I went to one of John Casey’s seminars several years ago. The sun was winding down from a very active sunspot cycle into the upcoming hibernation. That speech is one of the reasons I got into amateur radio as radio wave propagation was probably the best it was going to be in my lifetime.

It seems to me the winters are getting colder already. This global warming is such a crock. It’s only now that we are getting true summer weather in the Northeast. But it was still 52 degrees at my CT home yesterday morning. A bit chilly for the end of June.

My father followed this. The late Iben Browning talked about the solar cycles in the 1970’s, and that things will get cold.

Years ago I ran a “Rurudyne’s Daily Global Cooling Watch” thread here and elsewhere that posted, and charted, data from the solar weather sites. The data charts were hosted on image shack and no longer display.

I called it the Gore-Hansen Minimum.
