Hello. I searched for antifa and gettysburg on FR but found nothing, so I am sorry if this is a rerun. I read on Twitter that Antifa is planning a march at Gettysburg Cemetary on July 1 (saturday). I read they plan to knock over and write grafitti on tombstones. Did anyone else see this?
You think that matters to these anarchists? They'll deface and kick over Union tombstones, just to agitate. Book it.
Is there going to be a reenactment this year?
They may not want to mess with a bunch of guys toting 60 caliber rifles with bayonets.
They are violent anarchists who hate this country. Why not do any crazy, offensive thing that pops into their heads? I highly doubt any of them actually know anything about the battle—or that they care. Do you really think these disturbed (mostly) young people could say anything intelligent or well-informed about the Civil War at all?

This is very upsetting. I don’t care with which side one’s sympathies lay, we need to come together in doing whatever we can to support efforts to squelch this asap.
I’ve been there numerous times. I have never sensed lighthearted frivolity or laughter or anything like that in the air. There is just something very humbling when standing there realizing the sheer number of lives spent there. The air is heavy. One is stunned to hushed tones when taking in the horror of what happened there.
Prayers that these anarchists will be shut down HARD and FAST.

Your question got me to look it up. This was one scary weapon for the Civil War. Some Gatling guns fired a .45, some a .50 and some a 1” ! It was a manual hand cranked weapon, with a 40 round magazine. The 10 barrels allowed for cooling between rounds as the gun rotated. Rate of fire was 300 to 400 round per minute! This in an age where most weapons were still single shot muzzle loaders.

Groups like Sons of Confederate Veterans have permits to be there. ANTIFA is probably going there to stir up things with them.
I read something similar a few days ago. They were planning on doing something at Gettysburg. I did not think it would be anything good.

Not really the place to make a political statement. The statement made there so long ago trumps anything these losers can do. All they will accomplish is pissing off everyone.
They’re holding the annual Gettysburg Reenactment on July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. It’s the 154th Anniversary. A lot of people go to Gettysburg at that time, and the place gets pretty crowded. Things could get interesting.

These “little snots” will if given the opportunity, kill you graveyard dead. One of these “little snots” as you refer to them stuck a nail into the neck of a police horse. Why the officer did not shoot it, I will never know. Those sticks they carry have nails driven through them. Let one of them put that through your skull and it will ruin your day. These are dangerous vicious criminals. And should be dealt with appropriately.
