Needs more reboot.
And lens flare.
Get an actress that looks more like a young Nichelle Nichols rather than that anorexic androgynous Zoe Saldana. Then make the episodes fun with lots of action and phony fistfights. Avoid anything like the horrid boring Next Generation. The Captain needs to be an @$$kicker. No touchy feely exploring of feelings.
Bring back Harry Mudd and the girls.
And more Gorn fights.

Yes they should find a way. I read the Star Trek books along with the Star Wars ones. Both story lines were written by World class authors, and made both universes worthy of going down in history as two of the best science fiction series ever. And I’ve been reading sci-fi for 38 years or so. Get the Temporal police back into both universes!
The best Star Trek movie ever made was Galaxy Quest.

How about a movie from the "Mirror Mirror" alternate universe, where the characters were bad versions of themselves, and where Spock had a goatee?
Other than that, I think the time period has played itself out, go another 600 years into the future.
The show was somewhat tedious but had a tolerable story line which only a hard-core fan would love. However, when they had the pro-gay episode about the Vulcan mind meld, even I had to bail out the nearest air lock.
