Dr. Owens analysis on President Trump's Mental Health.

Remarks by Dr. Keith Abelow, Psychiatrist

Let me issue the standard disclaimer of psychiatrists who discuss the mental health of public figures: I have not personally examined President Trump.

Now, let me put to rest the concerns of Sen. Al Franken and political commentators John Oliver and Andrew Sullivan and anyone else who publicly or privately has questioned the president’s sanity: Donald Trump is stone cold sane.

When a man acquires billions of dollars through complex real estate transactions, invests in many countries, goes on to phenomenal success in television and turns his name into a worldwide brand, it is very unlikely that he is mentally unstable.

When the same man obviously enjoys the love and respect of his children and his wife, who seem to rely on him for support and guidance; it is extraordinarily unlikely that he is mentally unstable.

When the same man walks into the political arena and deftly defeats 16 Republican opponents and then the Democratic heir-apparent to a two-term president’s administration, the odds of that man being mentally unstable become vanishingly thin.

And when that very same man attracts to his team the kind of intellect and gravitas represented (to name just a few) by Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis, a retired Marine Corps general and commander of the U.S. Central Command, he cannot be mentally deranged. Period. It is a statistical impossibility.

Those who assert otherwise are political opportunists, or fools, or both (and I am thinking here, in particular, of Sen. Franken).

President Trump is the first human being to win this nation’s highest office without having held any other political office or serving as a general. Most political pundits thought his quest was pure folly.

Most journalists assessed his chances as zero. So who was laboring under quasi-delusional thinking?

Answer: Not Donald J. Trump.

Anecdotally, by the way, I have never had one bad Trump experience. Not one. I own several of his ties — all of them of the highest quality. I have stayed in his hotels and never had a single complaint (and I am a born complainer). I have eaten in his New York restaurant — flawless service, excellent food. I own an apartment at Trump Place in Manhattan. Impeccable design, sturdy construction, fabulous amenities. A mentally unstable man would be unlikely to deliver superior products across multiple industries, don’t you think?

If you’re still worried about the mental stability of the president, note this: The stock market doesn’t like instability. Investors, en masse, can take the measure of a man pretty darn well. The stock market has hit record high after record high since Trump’s election, and if you think that’s an accident, or that investors have all been fooled, it’s time to start wondering about your own capacity for rational thought.

I should note that nothing I am saying should besmirch the reputations of men like President Abraham Lincoln or Sir Winston Churchill, both of whom are said to have fought the ravages of major depression or bipolar disorder. One was instrumental in ridding America of slavery. The other was instrumental in saving the world from tyranny.

Mahatma Gandhi, by the way, also reportedly suffered from depression. Psychiatric illness does not, a priori, disqualify a person from rendering extraordinary service to mankind.

Mind you, neither Lincoln nor Churchill nor Gandhi led a nation after becoming a business sensation and television star. That trifecta defines one man: President Donald J. Trump.

Now, think about those who are rabble-rousing about the president’s mental status. Take Sen. Al Franken. He’s all worried about the president allegedly overestimating the crowd size at his inauguration. But Franken is allied with Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who asserted she is Native American, when there is no evidence of that whatsoever.

And they’re calling Trump’s sanity into question? Really, you can’t make this stuff up.

Completely agree with Dr. Ablow. Trump is Trump. He has a personality, as do all of us. He is an Alpha male, driven, a tad narcissistic (within normal limits) and has a high IQ. (read somewhere it was 154) He is used to winning and doing what it takes to win. He's had an absolutely remarkable career. He is a fighter who seems like a normal guy to me.

One sentence that stuck out with me was, "President Trump is the first human being to win this nation’s highest office without having held any other political office or serving as a general." Quite an accomplishment.

I have never had any concern about Trump and never experienced any 'red flags' re Trump. (Believe me, I trust red flags.) Ablow's comments about the people he's chosen and the market high speaks volumes.

President Trump has a wonderful family and even his ex-wives love him. A great family says a lot about a guy. How could anyone not be impressed with Trump?

If you want to talk psych stuff, think about this: The left is still in gross denial and will not accept the election result. It has gone on so long, it is now delusional.

I think a lot of the vitriol about Trump has to do with envy. Who on the left even comes close to Trump's gravitas? The psychodynamics of envy involve wanting to destroy the 'envied object' at an unconscious level. Also, there's an association with shame and envy. Some brief articles:

Envy Theory: A New Model of the Mind From the article:

"Overt behavioral indicators of unconscious envy are suggested when one senses another to be disturbingly intrusive, greedily acquisitive, withholding, and generally unhelpful. All self-undermining attitudes and behaviors are rooted in unconscious envy. Those who are prone to anger---irrationally perceiving that they are unfairly treated or that wrongs are done to them unjustly---may have strong, underlying envy."

Shame and How It Produces Envy Shame and guilt tied in with envy.

Envy and Jealousy From the article:

"Almost nobody would say, “I’m envious that you’re better-looking than I am.” You can’t change the way you or the other person looks. Few people would admit, “I’m envious that you have a spouse and children while I haven’t had a relationship in years.” To admit to such feelings acknowledges a level of hatred most personal relationships can’t tolerate. For the truth is that envy, the green-eyed monster, wants to destroy what it cannot have. The “solution” to envy — the way to find relief from the suffering it causes if you can’t have what you envy for yourself — is to make the envied object less worthy of that emotion, by spoiling or destroying it."

Many dem politicians and most in the MSM have a 'fake narcissism' that buoys up their fragile egos. When the see a guy like Trump, the 'real deal', their insecurities and inadequacies look at them in the mirror. That is unacceptable, so they focus on Trump and work on destroying him, his presidency and his platform. Witness the Mueller Special Counsel psychosis. Lots of psychodynamics with the left. . . some of it potentially dangerous. .

Stay safe President Trump and beef up your Secret Service and personal security detail. We want you to have eight years of Winning!

Liberals, like conservatives are not all the same. They too come in varying degrees. I'll grant that hardcore liberals will poo-poo it for sure right off the bat, that's a given. Because it does not further their goals and desires to destroy this nation. It is those in the marginal areas of liberal acceptance that you would even have a chance of them actually seeing some light and perhaps cause them to rethink their position. Every convert becomes another voice on our side. So for that reason alone it is worth the effort.

Remember the fact that we used to be in the majority. What started to change the tide was Nixon. He gave voice and credence to the left due to his stupid paranoia. We need to use President Trump as our reversal tide to sway people back to our side, and have them see the left as the power hungry group that they are who want to destroy the concept of freedoms for the human race. Freedoms that were originally conceived by the conservative thinkers who were more interested in the individual rather than the collective. That understood individual freedom, while not without its problems, still provided the better venue for the brightest among us to shine and innovate to improve the lot of mankind in larger numbers as never before in history. While liberalism has made that progress retreat to a place where the rich get richer and the majority get locked.

Our opportunity is in front of us, while the left is currently floundering in disarray due to the abject failure of socialism when put into actual practice in terms of economics, as well as, social conduct. There must be a certain level of standards for society to function together, peacefully.

Trump has already been one of the best Presidents. That’s why they hate him.

Thanks for that good reply. I understand all that and I was generalizing.

My approach to most liberals has been to present things in a way that they can understand on a personal basis...one that they can relate to. It works pretty well for some and others can’t grasp it. Most can’t see the big picture so it must be brought down to their level.

Donald Trump did and continues to do a great job in that regard. Thus the crossover last election. He received more Reagan Democrats than Reagan.

Unfortunately, most libs continue to be Useful Idiots.
