A battle over bare-breasted women at one of Maryland’s most popular vacation spots is heating up as summer hits without a clear answer on whether women are free to be free at the beach.
With the heat approaching, authorities in Ocean City issued a memo this week directing the beach patrol not to confront bare-chested women or ask them to cover up regardless of complaints. The policy is to stand until the Maryland Attorney General’s Office opines on state indecent exposure laws after a local beachgoer declared that if men can go sans tops, then women can, too.

Roger that! I’m thinking folks imagining topless Victoria Secret models might heave violently after seeing wave after wave of “people of Walmart.” The sad fact is that those who you might most like to see topless, won’t do so, while those who should remain covered will cavort their corpulence audaciously.
Yet another reason for me to avoid Ocean City.
When I was a kid in the 1950s and 1960s my parents would take us on vacation there. In my mind, it was close to heaven. Spending all day in the surf at a beautiful beach and, then, at night, enjoying a fire on the beach was just wonderful.
Now, it is so built up and noisy and filled with obnoxious people and ugly lights. And, of course, no more fires on the beach.

Back decades ago, I had a sub contract for work on a condominium on Singer Island in Rivera Beach (West Palm Beach) Florida. On one of my visits my boys insisted I visit the nude beach on the northern end of the island.
The topless women were mostly middle aged and beyond their prime and slightly disgusting

I have hope it will return. But I also think a rough road between “here” and “there”.

This woman, who was never a big fan of beaches or the hordes of. lemmings that spend every freaking summer at OC rather than having variety in life, is absolutely against exposure. Hell, I don’t like at all the stupid small bikinis (meanwhile guys insist on bigger and baggier ugly swim trunks) which technically cover everything.
We don’t need more temptation to sexual misdeeds for anyone esp. children. To end up making more children in below-ideal conditions.
And yes, allowing nudity will lead to actual sex on the beach, for full peep show for children.

Actually mammals and birds mostly carry their own full set of clothing all the time!
This is true.... I was combing one of my cats’ “pants” yesterday as her long fur gets all kinds of fir needles and stuff in them.
Just thought of two more argument against going Total Noodle:
1) A major civilized necessity for clothing is that it conceals figure flaws
2) No pockets. WHERE’S MY CELL PHONE?? WHERE ARE MY READING GLASSES??
