A Denver sportswriter is out of his job after triggering an onslaught of criticism for tweeting that a Japanese driver winning Sunday's Indianapolis 500 made him "uncomfortable."
Terry Frei, a sports reporter for the Denver Post, sent the questionable tweet shortly after Japanese race car driver Takuma Sato hailed victory in the illustrious Indy 500.
"Nothing specifically personal, but I am very uncomfortable with a Japanese driver winning the Indianapolis 500 during Memorial Day weekend," he wrote.

You know what ? SCREW THAT.
The Japanese are some of the most racist people I have ever met. There is a legendary Japanese motorsport called “Drifting”. Right now, most of the field is Japanese but there are a few Americans who are at the top of the field as well.
You should hear what they have to say about that. Screw the japanese. Put your Hello Kitty briefcase down, pull down your authentic vending-machine girls panties and squat to use the “toilet” because both sides of this story need to be told.
Listening to these androgynous showboats talk about Gaijin invading “their” sport while chain smoking Marlboros and shopping for $40 hairproducts and smoker-toothpastes. Feh. Who needs em.
What a maroon. I wonder if he knows that Mario Andretti grew up in a country which declared war on the USA?
“The Japs never apologized, why should we?”
Pops, are you advancing to full-fledge Alzheimer’s?

“The Japanese are some of the most racist people I have ever met.”
I’m well aware of that and am glad you pointed that out to the other folks here.
I’ll be the Denver Post has had reporters say or write things 10,000 times worse about Trump with no consequences.
Last time we checked Japan a former enemy is now a friend of the USA. Congrats to Sato and his American team members.
Even though Indy racing isn’t what it once was, I still think that the last 40 laps of the Indy 500 are one of the highlights of the sports year. There are usually five or six drivers with a chance to win, and there will usually be at least one wreck, so the drama is high.
Geez, why do I get these Wikipedia references? Does FR trust Wilipedia?
He was very joyous on the victory lap and in victory lane. I was very happy for him. He has only won one Indycar race before yesterday so winning the big one was obviously very special. He wasn’t a longshot as he was 4th on the grid in the second row and was in the hunt throughout the race and made the right moves at the end.
yes ! Leave it to a dude named Gaijin to point this out :)
When reparations are forced on us(they will be). The democrats will be crying when they realize they also have to pay.
Dude, we nuked them. We’re even.
Just report the sports, make the coffee or beer, sell the merch and StFU ABOUT POLITICS.
Where does NBC get it's "journalists" from???
That’s a good way of looking at it.
One of their favorite past-times is talking about you right in front of your face.
Because he’s a maroon!
Ha! I work with of quite a few them but don’t understand Japanese.
