Older teenagers will be pulled from the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), the Mormon church announced Thursday. The announcement from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints means an estimated 130,000-180,000 teenagers ages 14-18 will no longer participate in Boy Scouts starting next year. The Mormon church is the largest sponsor of Boy Scouts troops in the United States. The Boy Scouts' "Varsity" and "Venturing" programs for older teens had become difficult to implement within the religion, Mormon officials said in a news release. "Instead, Young Men activities will focus on spiritual, social, physical and intellectual outlined by the Church," officials said. "These activities are designed to be fun and meaningful and provide opportunities for personal growth and development." The change applies just to the United States and Canada, where the "Varsity" and "Venturing" programs are implemented, according to Mormon officials. Some 280,000 younger boys ages 8-13 will be kept Scouts while the church continues to develop a global scouting-type program. The loss is only a fraction of the 2.3 million youth in Boy Scouts, which has had a close bond with the Utah-based religion for more than 100 years. BOY SCOUTS WILL ALLOW TRANSGENDER CHILDREN INTO PROGRAMS The faith said the decision wasn't triggered by Boy Scouts policy change in 2015 to allow gay troop leaders since Mormon troops were allowed to run their groups to adhere to church teachings. The Mormon church opposes gay marriage and teaches its members that being in a homosexual relationship is a sin. The church has been working on an overarching global program for years.

The Mormons have every right in this still FREE country, to do what they like as long as it is legal. Who know what predators are attracted to boys and girls organizations...government interference into those organizations was imposed social engineering in the first place.
I am not a Mormon, but have friends that are. One was an Eagle Scout and went on to be a great adult leader. He and his friends are ready, willing and have the financial support to go whichever way is best for the boys.
That would be the one. I’ve been with Trail Life since their inception.
I’m active in BSA, but I don’t know what Varsity Scouts means. scouting.org website doesn’t help much.

Obviously what is best for the boys is not to be in the woods or company of homosexual men. When the Boy Scouts caved, they signed their death warrant, and the radical homosexuals who caused that couldnt care less. Just another western institution gone and out of their way.

These are teens, not “teens” aka “youths”...
They are dropping Venturing, too. I have no idea how popular Venturing is with LDS Scout’s, but it’seems more focused on high adventure.
To start, there are no 11 year old queers, even in church choirs.
The Mormons pretty much founded and then developed the BSA Venture scouting program for older boys and girls. The Mormons have apparently with drawn from the Venture program because if there are any queers, that s where they will enter to cause disruptive harm.
The BSA program remains an integral part of the Mormon youth program. Of course to the Mormon bashers, that is yet another mortal sin

Why shouldn’t they support the BSA?
I I was in Colombia recently and their scouts are more tradional....like we used to be.
For LDS Scouts it generally works like this: they join a troop at age 11. At age 14, they move to a Varsity Team. At age 16, they move to a Venturing Crew.

The Mormons should not be the only group to do this. The Boy Scouts have ceased to exist, replaced by the Gay Scouts.
Boy Scouts had many fat years of cushy jobs, nice offices, and big salaries, supported by corporate America. Their management got fat, lazy, and above all - morally complacent.
Then, when corporate America started to push the leftist social agenda on them, they were troubled - “who will pay for the big salaries if we don’t allow practicing homosexuals into BSA?”
As a Mormom Scoutmaster I too am surprised it took this long. I have argued for this separation for years for two very different but equally valid reasons. The first and obvious is that the BSA is no longer a principled origination that can live up it’s own oath. They have chosen political special interests and corporate funding over God and principle. Second reason is that the BSA is massively expensive. Awards, patches, books, and camps are all overpriced to cover the massive and archaic bureaucracy. I have to admit that as much as I wanted this to happen and think our boys will be better off it is still a sad day to see the end of something good destroyed by the Left.
