A video of a golfer teeing off at TPC Sawgrass has been making the internet rounds, and not because he crushed his drive--he also hit a duck in the process.
It's one of those freak things in life where physics can't explain just how the man's trajectory perfectly synced with the unaware bird's flight path. Unfortunately, the duck fared worse than the player's rinsed tee shot.

How do you score this drive? Birdie? In baseball, it might be called a fowl ball.

Didn’t the crazy Canadians charge a American baseball player with a crime for killing a pigeon with a line drive?

I remember playing Kickball with one of those big red rubber balls in elementary school and kicking a hard pop fly that nailed a passing seagull. Total fluke thing.

What is the usga ruling on that? Reshoot, play the ball where it landed, etc.?

I remember about 35 years ago or so Dave Winfield hit a bird with a between innings warm up throw. Might be it.

Four stroke penalty if you’re an American female. Mulligan if you’re an Asian female. Drop zone and lose one stroke for all male players.

Happened to a friend I was playing with one time. He hit his tee shot into a gaggle of geese that were sitting on the fairway. His drive clocked one of them and it was lights out.
I remember being kind of sad about it.

I took out a crow on a fairway shot on a course in Oak Creek AZ, near Sedona. The rest of the crows took offense with much noise & flapping of wings around the stiff form of their buddy.
