I am so tired of listening to liberals and weak Republicans arguing about a wall along our southern border that I want to scream. However, at this late date, I’m beginning to see their point. It IS expensive. It CAN be breached with a tall enough ladder. It CAN have holes cut in it.
I finally have a cheap, foolproof, workable solution. Why don’t we just allocate a ½ mile wide strip as “No Man’s Land” and plant land mines in it. That would be simple, cheap, fast, and very effective. Plus, we would be notified every time one of the mines exploded.
Leave it to the politicians to complicate a simple, inexpensive solution. I’ll bet that after 3 months either the Democrats or the Mexican government would be volunteering to build the wall themselves.

The NSA’s open budget is around 10 billion a year, Snowden said the secret budget was around 52 billion per year. Homeland Security’s budget is 40 billion with 240,000 employees. I guess some must be contractors or something, yeesh 240,000 employees?

Frankly, I don’t think people are serious about keeping illegals out.
As far as cutting holes in it and not being able to see through it, people are thinking real damn small and very, very far from a great wall with a big, beautiful door in it.
Wall has to be at least big enough to even accommodate a door frame.
The reality is unless a mechanism that effectively ends all illegal alien crossings of the southern border is constructed, it’s never going to end.
American politicians need to be entirely removed from that process forever, and the task needs to be handled by something that doesn’t lie, never stops, isn’t concerned with growing a voter base or importing cheap labor for donors, and is not ever up for re-election.
This is so far from not feasible. Physically.
Politically, I dont know anymore.
The most important thing would be recording the deaths and just putting it on the internet I guess. You wouldn’t want drug mules to be pointlessly blown up or associated with ‘people wanting a better life’ for propaganda purposes. They have plenty of ways to keep drug product moving besides the unregulated parts of the southern border.

As far as political feasibility goes, probably only if a certain group of folks who shall remain unnamed are poured into the foundation as a reminder of what happens to those who conspire to give our country away to anyone who wants it.
And make it a felony for any American citizen who employs an illegal...
note that the $400 BILIION DALLARS to $600 BILLION DOLLARS per year estimate was for everything related to illegal immigration- for instance, when an illegal alien steals a car, that is around $20,000- and if they wreck other cars in a high speed chase, that’s another 30-40,000 or more that they wrack up in lost money- plus not to mention the cost of lawyers, medical expenses- sometimes several police are involved in the chases- that all costs a lot of money- if the alien shoots a cop, that costs a ton of money- and this is just for one illegal alien case- there are 1000’s of such cases every year-
some districts the prisons are nearly 3/4 illegal aliens- at a cost of $145 per day per illegal- that’s 1000’s of illegals x $145 per day to house them in prisons
like one person said the other day- an illegal alien was living nearby, got cancer- and had to undergo very expensive treatments and operations- then died- tax payers were stuck with a nearly $2,000,000 medical bill for just one illegal alien- the surviving illegal alien wife had no intention of paying any of it back
Some say the estimated cost of illegal aliens is close to 1 trillion dollars every year when all the expenses are added up- lost wages, money going out of country- no taxes being paid- on and on and on it goes-
Illegal aliens are draining our country’s finances- a $25 billion dollar wall is a true bargain, and again we’ll save that amount just in the first month or so as we stop the massive flow of illegals and deport those money draining dead beat illegals who are abusing our system and programs-
For those that are here working and making a difference and contributing to the nation’s growth- fine- give them a legal path to citizenship AFTER they apply properly- if they refuse to go through proper channels, like every previous immigrant who immigrated here legally had to do, then kick them out too- We don’t need people here who refuse to follow the law- but we do open our door to those who respect our country and want to work hard and do things legally
I would respectfully disagree. Land mines can mess with cattle, deer, armadillos, etc. If one was to give the 1st Special Operations Wing that same 1/4 mile strip, there is something about the wwwwwrrrrruuuuuppppp about half a second after you see that red streak heading for the ground that sends a never to be forgotten message from an AC-130 Spectre.
I’m waiting for them to invent some kind of device that allows you to see on the other side of something without actually having to have a line of sight. Man, and if they could then mount that device on something that could fly!

We do not even have the technology to build a high wall upon which a person can stand and look down.

Somebody makes a lot of money on what illegal aliens cost citizens through taxes and other less official ways. A lot of citizens would lose that money if it stopped. It isn’t going to ever stop, in my opinion. We haven’t even had 65% eligible voter turnout since 1908, around 40% for off year congressional elections, even less for local. That recent Georgia 6th district special election that made so much news and was supposedly so important only got 43% eligible voter turnout. I didn’t see any stories about that. Too few people care enough to even vote about it, either one way or another.

In otherwords they would have to make an honest living and get creative and find other ways to earn a living? They were creative enough to figure out how to make money off of illegals, they can be just as creative and find ways to earn an honest living after illegals are deported and the easy money is no longer available to them
businesses that rely on illegals and cry about ‘losing business’ if illegals get deported built their businesses up on flimsy foundations- by exploiting illegals - that model was doomed to failure- they knew it- yet they didn’t care- these businesses can either adapt to a now different way of life once that pool of workers are no longer here or not- but we shouldn’t not fix a massive problem by claiming it might hurt some businesses- IF they can’t find labor legally- then they can do like every other business has to do legally- find ways to make it work within the law or find another line of business-
There will still be enough people wanting to come here legally to fill many of the jobs- Btu we can’t not fix the problem of the massive amounts of illegals unwilling to work and who abuse the system just to appease businesses that refuse to follow the law and work hard like every other lawful business has to
Nearly 45% of illegals are on some kind of government or state assistance- and don’t work- another 20 or so % are in prisons-
There is a legal process for those that do want to work- they need to follow that process- those making money off of illegals illegally- I have no sympathy for- Those who exploit illegals for their own gain=- i have no sympathy for- they can find other liens of work
Some things are very taxing.
Turn off the magnet. Better than a wall or a mine field.
And be able to turn the mines on and off. Make them all active for a year, blow up a few illegals so they know they are there. Then turn them in and off randomly so only 1% of them are active at any given time. Then sit back in a Clint Eastwood rocking chair and say to the border...”do you feel lucky, punk?” Might even make a reality show out if it to pay for the mines. I have always thought mines were the solution to this problem
