Native American groups plan to make the Trump Hotel in Washington ground zero in their major protest next weekend against the president's energy and environment policies.

Tribal groups will descend Thursday night on the grounds near the hotel to flash projections on its walls, dance, chant and give speeches ahead of Saturday's main event, the People's Climate March.

The Indigenous Environmental Network, tribal nations, and aligned groups will hold the pre-protest rally at Trump's flagship hotel.

I believe that’s called trespassing. D.C. law 18-88:
“Any person who, without lawful authority, shall enter, or attempt to enter, any public or private dwelling, building, or other property, or part of such dwelling, building, or other property, against the will of the lawful occupant or of the person lawfully in charge thereof, or being therein or thereon, without lawful authority to remain therein or thereon shall refuse to quit the same on the demand of the lawful occupant, or of the person lawfully in charge thereof, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $100 or imprisonment in the Jail for not more than 6 months, or both, in the discretion of the court.

Probably be an improvement from the TP and fried squirrel they are accustomed to.

The Indians were scalping each other before the Europeans arrived.

They have dug up mass burial grounds from hundreds of years before Europeans were here.

The victims were scalped.

“The practice of taking scalps was down to the white man demanding proof of kills from Indians.”

Do your homework.

The hotel is private property and the cops had damn well better protect it. Lock the rabble up.

Just like their town of Browning on the Blackfoot Reservation in Montana.

They had to close their own town because they wouldn’t pay taxes to support it.

Sorry, Chucklehead. Your political forebears signed treaties that said we do. Those treaties have been upheld.

but, you are introducing actual facts into a narrative. The narrative pushed by the liberals, is that the Indian peoples were living in peace and harmony with nature, until evil Europeans massacred them.

If there are discrepancies between facts of a situation, and the liberal narrative, then the liberal narrative overrides any inconvenient truths. (sarcasm)

Oh, please no — the shuttles would be up on blocks, the carpets in the hallways fouled, the lobby furniture fabric ripped, and the windows spider-webbed within 4 hours.

But... there would be a casino with bad blackjack rules, and you could probably get tax-free smokes there, too. Next there would be a handmade sign for fry-bread.

The National Park Service has resumed tours of the clock tower in the historic Old Post Office Building, which is also the site of the Trump International Hotel.

WASHINGTON — The National Park Service has resumed tours of the clock tower in the historic Old Post Office Building, which is also the site of the Trump International Hotel.

Visits to the tiptop of the historic Romanesque Revival building along Pennsylvania Avenue had been suspended starting in 2014 as construction on the Trump hotel began. The new Trump hotel opened last fall.

The tours resumed Feb. 9, National Park Service spokesman Mike Litterst confirmed to WTOP.

Tours run 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas, according to the park service website.

The General Services Administration, the agency that serves as the federal government’s landlord, made the decision about when to resume tours, Litterst said. So far, there’s been little fanfare about the tours restarting.

For the month of February, the tower was open for tours for 12 days and saw 2,507 visitors, the park service said.

Under a 2012 deal with the GSA, Donald Trump, then a celebrity businessman, won a 60-year lease to redevelop the Old Post Office building and turn it into a luxury hotel.

The clock tower tour includes exhibits about the building’s history. “One of the highlights is definitely the skyline,” Litterst said.

The building, which was built in the 1890s, is one of the tallest structures in D.C., the GSA says, and it currently provides the arguably the best views of the D.C. skyline since, the Washington Monument will be closed until spring 2019 to repair recurring problems with its elevator.

Visitors interested in taking the tour should follow the signs at the south end of the building.

The hotel has been the site of frequent protests since Trump’s election.
