Chappelle’s Show skits with Charlie Murphy are amongst the funniest television skits ever produced.
The meme “I’m Rick James bitch!” is still used.
It’s always horrible to hear of people fall to a disease like this well before what we think is their time.
However I suppose we’re not all destined to die peaceably in our sleep at 100.
RIP Charlie Murphy and condolences to his family.

I didn’t know he even had a brother. 57 is pretty young, but cancer can take over at any time and at any age.
So, that probably means Eddie gets himself checked for it every so often.

Those skits were hilarious. R.I.P.

they thought he was getting better
Happened to my FIL. His lymphoma was in remission when a periodic blood test came back negative. Six weeks later - gone.
Shocked the hell out of everyone.

Damn, bummer. He was Navy too and served until 1983, according to his Wikipedia bio. He saw the bombing of the Marine barracks in Lebanon, which he described as a “mushroom cloud”.
Rest in peace, Charlie Murphy.

Great strides made in curing childhood leukemia. But when you get it as an adult, it is usually 1-2 years (if that long), then fatal. Prayers for Charlie Murphy’s loved ones.

Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories were classic.
When Chappell bailed on his show, I wanted to hear more True Hollywood Stories from Charlie.

Aww, that’s a shame. I enjoyed him on Chappelle’s Show. RIP.

that’s too bad.
Rest in Peace.
I met Eddie 20 years ago and he was just plain nice. I’m sure his brother was as well.
