Marvels vice president of sales has blamed declining comic-book sales on the studios efforts to increase diversity and female characters, saying that readers were turning their noses up at diversity and didnt want female characters out there.
Over recent years, Marvel has made efforts to include more diverse and more female characters, introducing new iterations of fan favourites including a female Thor; Riri Williams, a black teenager who took over the Iron Man storyline as Ironheart; Miles Morales, a biracial Spider-Man and Kamala Khan, a Muslim teenage girl who is the current Ms Marvel.

Gee, big surprise. Makes me wanna barf.
And if you’re actually putting in a Muz as a hero - making it female with scarf to punctuate it - you’ve really gone over the edge.
I need to clarify something.
I don’t actually mind racial/sex diversity. But even so, if it is to happen, it should happen gradually.
Throwing all this at us (I’m female) at once is just far too much, and stretches credulity. How did we go from all white(?) guys with no noticeable religious or even “sexual” tendencies to every kind of person there could be, including those who made a choice to be what they are?
Perhaps their erstwhile readers didn’t care for morality that emerged from some leftist’s nether regions to be shoved down their throats. Particularly when they were paying for the privilege.
One has to wonder if a Hollywood executive made the same comments how long before he would be canned.
I hope they go out of business. Along with Target, Starbucks and the rest.
I had no objection to a female or bi-racial superhero. Nor, I suspect, did most fans. I really didn’t need all the PC inclusion, though. What if, instead of a Muslim superhero, they’d added a Christian superhero? Right, I know, wouldn’t even be considered.
But you see, the Guardian won’t blame Marvel - no, not at all.
They will see it as simply another failing of irredeemable, racist white men, for not accepting Marvel’s “common sense” attempts to increase “diversity.”
Teen aged boys from 9 to 90 read “comic books” for the slam bang action, and if any females grace the pages they must be damned hot. Girls are really into these novels, and if the writers were trying to make a living selling to females, they would go broke.
‘Kamala Khan, a Muslim teenage girl’
Absolutely untrue. I just looked at pics of the character. She doesn’t even wear a hijab, much less a burka. She’s also wearing a mini-dress. If she were a Muslim teenager, she’d have been ‘honor,’ killed ages ago.
Hope the perverts go bankrupt.
DC is just as guilty...look at CW 'superhero' shows...they have lost HALF of their viewers. Why? They have inserted sodomite themes into EVERY show; 'Supergirl' being the worst of the bunch. Viewers still won't comment in public, for fear of being labeled 'racist' or 'bigot'...they just change the channel or quit watching.
Apparently the failure of the WNBA was a lesson lost.
Comic shops are, by and large; a boy’s club.
All that work to sell a good product and build up the customer base to only lose it all as they sacrifice themselves to the altar of “diversity”.
Honor killed by the moslem Green Lantern, no doubt.
We have no problem with women, or people of a different color.
But it really pushes the limits of credibility when you present gay men or m*slims as super strong heroes.
I’ll never understand businesses purposefully alienating large swaths of customers to push the progressive agenda.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Americans don’t take to brainwashing except in university settings, and “students” are too busy protesting and/or drinking to read Marvel comic books.
