Note that the spools of conduit were the source of the fire, but said to be 'non combustible'. And were locked behind chain link fence.
But Mayor Mo was quick to announce it 'wasn't terrorism'.

Ah, they live to take credit for things like this if they did them.
Haven’t heard anyone lay claim to it yet.
Plus honestly, it’s not countrywide news. Most folks here don’t even know about it.

The question remains—how did that fire start? The firefighters determined that the conduit did not spontaneously combust.

How about the combustible material below the road. How about a Fire Department Reponse before burning concrete. How about some responsibility and major US City. Curious as similar to Oakland. Still have questions 🔥 ☠️⛑🚫 🚘 💩

How the hell do you burn down an overpass or elevated highway? It’s concrete and steel. There’s not much there to burn.

I am an electrician. “conduit” does not come in “spools”. Conduit is thin meyal pipe that wire goes inside of.

This wasn’t terrorism. It was stupidity.

“How the hell do you burn down an overpass or elevated highway? Its concrete and steel. Theres not much there to burn.”
The sustained high temperature affects the steel yield point. IOW, it weakens the steel I-beams and trusses that support the huge concrete load that makes the road part in the bridge span.
Case in point, the WTC collapse in 911 was more of jet fuel burning that weakened the I-beams and subsequently, the pancaking.

If it gets hot enough aluminum will also burn

More than likely fiber optic conduit that does come in rolls and is installed underground by being pulled in by vibratory plows.
