A badger has been filmed burying an entire cow carcass for the first time.
While badgers are known to bury other items, including food stashes, nobody knew that they would, or even could, bury an animal carcass four times their size.
The amazing footage was captured by researchers in the Grassy Mountains of Utah.

Pound for pound the nastiest animal. Worse than a wolverine?
My boys who went to U. Wisconsin said that they used to have a badger as a mascot for the football team, but got rid of it because it was so unpleasantly nasty.

That’s pretty ambitious! They say the cow outweighs the badger 4:1, looks more like 8-10:1 to me.

This one instinctively senses the imminent onset of a new ice age. It’s preparing for the Long Winter.

So, next time I replace my shaving brush, I shouldn’t let the vegan propaganda make me feel bad if I choose a badger-bristle one?

The amazing thing was how it buried it. I expected to see it heap dirt onto the carcass until it was buried in a mound. Instead it undermined it until it literally sank into the ground. Probably keeps the meat fresher longer as well as putting out of reach of all the other carrion eaters.
