There's nothing quite as frustrating as a bad movie ending. Failure to stick that landing in the final act can totally ruin an otherwise great film, or give us one more reason to hate one that was already a dud. Here's a look at some of the most annoying movie endings in recent memory. And it should go without saying, but spoilers ahead
The Matrix Revolutions | 0:23
X-Men: The Last Stand | 0:59
Signs | 1:44
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 | 2:43
Now You See Me | 3:27
I Am Legend | 4:15
Man of Steel | 5:14
Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King | 6:06

Vanishing Point. Barry Newman plows straight into the plow of a bulldozer and blows himself up? That’s it??
Yeah, I couldn’t remember the name of that one. But it sucked at the end......................
Don’t blame Peter Jackson; the ending was from Tolkien (and even longer in the book).
The original Matrix - great! The rest, not so much.
It’s a Wonderful Life
“The best thing about this thread is that I saw hardly any of the movies that people are complaining about. LOL.”
I can top that. I’ve never even heard of many of them:)
What do you think was going to happen? Hes gonna climb back down the Empire State Building?
Yes, and he grabs Jessica Lange and swims back to the island with her and they live happily ever after. :)
lol
Lord of the Rings? How else would it have ended but the way Tolkien wrote it???
I was fortunate to have read the short story on which the film was based Farewell to the Master, 1940, before watching the movie, 1951.
Even the title of the original short story by Harry Bates suggests the impact of the surprise ending, which was bastardized with incipient political correctness...
The ending lines are (paraphrasing)
"Klaatu, please tell your master that we humans will straighten ourselves up and fly right, and we are grateful for his guidance..."
Even after 60+ years, I remember Klaatu's final words, and the final words of the story :
"You misunderstand me, the might robot had said...
I am the master.
The Swimmer, Burt Lancaster, 1968
The ending Ocean’s Eleven is one of the many things that make the original far superior to the crappy remakes.
Yeah, the short story ended in a way where there was hope. The movie? Oh, hell no.
LOL!
The Crying Game probably could not be made today. In 2016 some women have a penis. Objecting to that “fact”, much less throwing up in horror, would be the height of “transphobia” and would make the film too “problematic”. Heck Mrs. Doubtfire probably couldn’t be made today.

Need more coffee
If they were advanced, they’d be using Java.
And the Maltese Falcon was not genuine. Imagine if it had been! Maltese Falcon II!!
Most depressing movie endings ever....
Yea, that was bad.
Oh, and don’t forget the dude parked his truck RIGHT THERE in the same parking lot as the cartel hit men who would then attempt to track him down and kill him. They tracked him down using his license plate, sheesh.
Dude: just park down the road. I knew that when I 1st started driving.
