Donald Trump slams Freedom Caucus on Twitter, says Democrats will ‘make a deal’
Global News ^ | March 27, 2017 | Kevin Nielsen

President Donald Trump continued to nurse a grudge against the Freedom Caucus as he lashed out against the ultra-right wing of the Republican Party on Twitter Monday, while also promising cooperation from the Democrats on health care.

Earlier Monday, White House spokesman Sean Spicer suggested Trump might turn to members of the Democratic Party to overhaul Obamacare and the U.S. president seconded that notion on Twitter Monday night.

Trump said the Freedom Caucus of the GOP, known as a particularly right-wing segment of Republican lawmakers, snatched “defeat from the jaws of victory” after Trump-backed health care legislation was pulled off the table on Friday in an embarrassing moment for the party.

If you like your ObamaCare - you can keep your ObamaCare ~~~ Donald Trump.

They stay on this track and the Trump/Priebus/Ryan Train is gonna have to do without me. They can get the ******* 'Rats to vote(fat chance)for their agenda.

I’ve never trusted Trump and this is why. There is no ideology to the man, no guiding principles. He’s just a salesman trying to meet his quota. Bashing the FC is as natural as falling off a log to him because he never had anything in common with them in the first place.

"I’ve changed,” said Poe, who was first elected to Congress in 2004. “I used to think we had to do border security before we ever talk about other immigration issues. But we have to do them in tandem, because [otherwise] we’ll never get to those other issues. The border is really not secure because of the drug cartels.”

Been there since 2004. That's a long time to be drinking that swamp water. I don't care how conservative you are when first elected...you spend enough time in Sodom and Gomorrah and you're bound to get corrupted.

He should call Maxine Waters over to the White House and get her ideas on the matter. The Democrats want Trump impeached and they are going to fight the Gorsich Nomination. Doesn’t sound like the Rats want to be helpful.

I will hope that President Trump is using the Democrat involvement threat to get the Republicans to pull something together. The idea that the REPUBLICAN Controlled Congress is only in Session for SEVEN DAYS in April while this thing is hanging out there really pisses me off.

Shows me that they have no sense of urgency. Most are proving themselves the be Democrats in Republican clothing.

He doesn’t seem to understand, that when he attacks the FC, he’s attacking a good portion of his base.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Exactly. He has no support within the establishment of either party. He only has us who voted for him and he’s driving us away.
At Ryan's Press Conference said that Ryancare will get done soon and all players are on board.
Trump saved his bacon
Indeed. The FC saved the Repubs and, to an extent, Trump from the consequences of a disastrous bill.
I support Trump on 99% of the issues but badmouthing the real conservatives in the legislature is not one of them.
LOL. All the kamikaze caucus did was flap their gums and shoot down the first major item of President Trump’s agenda. They have little support for their bills. Beltway kabuki like always. All talk. No accomplishments.
Yeah, it should be much easier to get support from the Democrats when you want to do something that is overbearing and unconstitutinal.
BINGO. I wish President Trump would quit attacking the people who will back him on rolling back Obama's unconstitutional actions.
If there's a snake in the grass, hoping to destroy Trump's agenda, it's Paul Ryan.
Put the blame where it truly belongs.
We’ll find out.
I don’t imagine any sort of tax cuts will be possible with the government paying the bill for everyone’s healthcare.
I am still hopeful that Trump will push forward with a border wall, deportations, downsizing the bureaucracy, decreasing taxes, and building up the military.
I am becoming more pessimistic, however, about Trump cutting federal welfare programs and taking a general conservative approach to what Fedzilla should be involved in.
This is a mistake with long term consequences. The far right backed him in his bid for the Presidency. The RINO’s he’s in bed with now all opposed him.
You have amnesia. There was just as much “never Trump” on the “far right” as the mushy middle.
He is also going to lose Drudge if he keeps this up.
I can already sense that Drudge is turning.
Trump will try to at least get some fixes with R+Ds.
You play along with communists, you get communism.
We've had enough of communism. It's time to start abolishing communism, not trying to fix it.
The democRATs aren't the only ones who have lost their grip on reality.
This is how all this seems to me.
House "leadership" did not want a repeal of maoBamaCare, so they poisoned the bill. It has just enough toxins for Conservatives to balk but not so much to cause Trump to balk. When the Freedom Caucus and other Conservatives refused to play, Ryan made Trump feel that he was on his side in the deal. Ryan was then able to paint the Freedom Caucus as the enemy.
The Freedom Caucus IS the enemy of Paul Ryan. This was a brilliant move to isolate conservatives so that GOPe could continue their gravy train and "sensible" government. The enemy is not the demonRats...they were defeated at the ballot. The enemy of Liberty and limited government is the entrenched interests..i.e. GOPe.
The Freedom Caucus was doing what they promised to do in the last election.
Really? Have got a whip count on their bills? Maybe if they spent less self serving time on TV and more trying to get support for their bills from their colleagues we would have an alternative to Ryancare. Unfortunately, we don’t.
The FC and their financial backers the Koch brothers have been lying to you for years. When are you going to wake up?
The country has drifted to the left since Woodrow Wilson and made a Quantum leap to the left under Obama. Hillary was supposed to be the closer that would finish off the constitutional republic forever. Making little, tiny, insignificant reforms won’t stop the cultural and political freight train of progressivism. Trump hitched a ride on the coats of the tea party. I could care less about beltway politics. We’ve got a narrow window to be big, bold and CONSERVATIVE! Those principles built the most prosperous country in history. It’s the only thing that will bring it . Trump either works with the FC or teams up with the establishment. That’s the binary choice.
I think the Donald is in over his head-
The Demonrats?- he thinks they will help?- that’s a laugh!
Rino’s? they could care less- what’s in it for me and my Demon friends!
then there are those who are for the NEW World order- some hide from it- others (like Mclame- Have Flat out announced - they are for it!)
last - the Marxist/Communist’s= O’bummer,pelosi,schumer,sanders-with the STATES of Kalifornia-NewYork- and others wish to overthrow the constitution and Trump-
Donald has had his first rude awakening- there are going
to be many more “failures”- he should cut his losses and
restart- or the unholy alliances WILL take place-
Like the gang of 7 etc. and they will set the agenda
Dems won’t help because they need something to run on against him. They are already saying Obamacare is his baby.
Sorry, Dems will help because they want to divide the GOP and depress support for POTUS. Look at all the checkers playing “supporters” of POTUS who can’t see beyond their noses in this very thread. Plenty of people are easily manipulated and the Dems are masters at it.
