A pair of scissors was finally removed from a mans stomach, 18 years after they were left inside him during an operation.
The six-inch long surgical scissors were successfully removed from 54-year-old Ma Van Nhat at Bac Kan General Hospital on December 31, the Independent reports.
In 1998, Nhat underwent surgery after being involved in a traffic accident.
Following the operation, he said his stomach still hurt, but he went to a local clinic and was diagnosed as having a stomach ache.
Eighteen years after the operation, Nhat started experiencing frequent sharp pains.
The man had his stomach x-rayed and the film showed scissors lying in his abdomen.
Now, he is recovering after having the scissors removed.
Wonder how he got through TSA checkpoints.
I didn’t know we had Obamacare back then.
But then, I've never been good at reading x-rays.
He cut in line.
I’m thinking that’s his pelvis on the right. A couple of good sneezes and he could have saved the cost of a vasectomy. :=)
Isn’t that his spine right below the scissors? So his head is just out of the picture to the left. Or does he have a tail?
Looks more like a set of forceps instead of scissors.
Another Mars commercial?
Viet Nam...were they pinko shears?
I see what you did there. ;-)
lol. that was sort of my thought.
but in all seriousness....i hear these stories too often for comfort.
I have to wonder: would it be too difficult to make a spreadsheet of all the stuff “on the tray” at the beginning of the operation, and then at the end of the operation just go item by item and make sure all the stuff on the spreadsheet is on the tray after the operation?
Isn’t there SOME sort of PROCESS which could help the surgery team not leave their shit behind in people’s bodies?
He probably dragged a woman behind him in a burka.
My guess is that by “stomach” they actually mean abdominal cavity.
“Ouch!”
Or, It only hurts when I laugh.
This man should count his lucky stars he didn’t require an MRI during those 18 years since his surgery.
“I didnt know we had Obamacare back then.”
They probably charged him for the instrument.
