I say B.S. to this....how could you prove them wrong and then go through what is I’m sure a chemical treatment that costs 10’s of 1000’s....Another cash cow playing on patients....bollocks I say! A biopsy is the absolute way to determine what is what . I say this because they are stating that each cancer has a distinct “DNA” when as it is now they are finding mutations of all sorts within strains of cancers. CHA-CHING baby...CHA CHING.
Haven’t they been doing this successfully already, in the PSA annual blood tests for men? I guess the PSA is prostate specific, but the general capability has been promising.
I disagree. There are cancers that are almost impossible to detect before they've metastasized and advanced to stage 4. My wife died of cholangiocarcinoma. That's cancer of the bile ducts, microscopic tumors in the inside of the bile ducts which are inside the liver. Impossible to detect by standard testing. By the time the cancer has turned up somewhere else where it can be detected you've got stage 4 cancer and only months left to live. If something like this is really possible it would be a God send.
This won't eliminate biopsies or other diagnostic procedures. It would direct those efforts in places where without the test there would be no reason to look.

I have one of these PSA tests every six months.(I'm 73 years old and have testosterone shots).
There is a certain level of prostate specific antigens (PSA) in your body all the time and what is being monitored is the level of these antigens.
An increase in the antigen level usually means that prostate cancer growth has begun. Higher levels of Testosterone increases the rate of prostate cancer growth.

So glad you told me that. Testosterone would be the reason, then, for more frequent PSA tests, I am inferring from what you reported.
So, why is Testosterone not quite a risk to take especially in we olders.
At my request, my doctor just increased my daily dose of Metformin from 1,000 MG to 1700 MG daily...he said why and I said that I want to live longer.
Diabetics have a shorter life span than non-diabetics...UNTIL.... diabetics on the drug Metformin live longer than the non-diabetic population on average.
Yes, PSA testing is increased when on (HRT) hormone replacement therapy (Testosterone).

Our sons use it and it is a concern to me. It’s a personal decision, for sure. There are advantages in muscle mass, energy, and they are gym nuts. No pun intended. %:/
