I'm relatively new to "social networks" in the truest sense of the word. My sister raves about Pinterest, and tried to get me interested, but I'm not seeing any usefulness in it. What is it, what does it do, how does it advance my place in the universe, and who cares? It looks like a bunch of pictures to me. Pretty shallow.
I'm thinking it might be useful for widening exposure to some items I'm selling on Etsy, but don't know. Anyone with hands-on knowledge?
You don’t have to be public on it, supposedly
Didn’t say it was the only way to do the same thing or a similar thing. I’ve never heard of Evernote but if it works for you, great.
Evernote is a major competitor or Microsoft’s OneNote, if you’ve ever heard of that.
I’ve heard of OneNote but have not used it to any great extent.
We have a bingo!
You can choose public or private when you sign up. Links to painting demo videos can’t be kept in a recipe file.
Since we live in a two bedroom condo, I like things that don’t take up space.
Like so many things in this world it is what you make it. It’s a data repository. Use it or don’t.
A place to go for women who feel inadequate for the purpose of feeling a lot more inadequate.
Same thing happens to me. I'll see something on google image, click on the page and pinterest says I must register. Of course, I won't.
Pinterest works with Zuckerface's stolen website, google and gmail to share a lot of personal information, e.g., likes, search history, friends, your birthday.
I’m on Pinterest and I love to crochet and knit. I’ve gotten many free patterns off of Pinterest, really good ones. If you like cooking, you can get a multitude of recipes. If you’re planning a party, bridal or baby shower, you can get ideas for decorating and planning. My 17 year old granddaughter loves getting makeup and hairdo ideas. Click any topic and you’ll find it on Pinterest.
For Chicks and Trannys and Gays.
I don’t think that’s always true. I’ve known accomplished artists who could barely write, and I’m sure that there are literate people who aren’t very visual.
I’m oriented to and respond strongly to both, and find both stimulating and necessary.
Do you accept third-party out-of-state checks?
QVC sales.
It’s actually my cookbook! And I keep favorite recipes on hand, plus tons I haven’t made yet. I have also found ideas for how to fold/wear scarves, ideas for vacation, tricks for shopping at consignment shops, and yoga positions and videos. I love Pinterest!
whateveritis I don’t use it and I wont use it.
I will not volunteer my private information so these companies can sell them for a nickel and hand it over to the government. Want to share pictures? Build your own server.
I get it that they want you to register to post stuff there, but it annoys me that they won’t even let you browse without signing up.
I’ve learned through my internet years that there is nothing “free” anywhere on the web, not even when you don’t provide financial information. They are buying us just for clicking.
Maybe it's my ADD talking, but don't you ever experience information overload? It's like highlighting ever other sentence in a textbook. Pretty soon all the highlighting becomes meaningless.
Try Imgur. It's less organized but a lot more fun.
