Former USC and Los Angeles Raiders quarterback Todd Marinovich could avoid jail time after pleading guilty to charges he was nakedly trespassing in someones backyard while possessing drugs.
Marinovich, 47, was found unclothed in the backyard of someones house in the Los Angeles area in August. Tuesday, he pleaded guilty to five misdemeanor counts regarding charges of public nudity, drug possession and trespassing.

Is this the character we saw that morning? Assumed he was a bum. Probably is.
So where was he carrying his drugs or hiding them, if he was naked?
Yeah.
Todd had a lot of talent but was completely screwed up by his dad wanting to live vicariously through his son.
I watched a Raiders game and they showed his dad going bonkers in the stands.
I told my wife then things wouldn’t end well.
There was a good “30 for 30” ESPN documentary about him and his relationship with his father growing up (and now as an adult). Did a good job of bringing out the humanity of each without ever excusing some of the things they did.
As for incidents like this. Todd is an addict, pure and simple (and in no way do I mean that to be an excuse for him). Per the documentary, this is what killed his career as much as anything his father did.
“nakedly trespassing”?
Maybe just almost nude, just wearing a backpack?
Once a flake, always a flake...
My wife joked that he probably had a fanny pack on and reversed to be in front.
His dad helping him to become a QB was NOT harmful. What was harmful was his dad not applying the same emphasis on morality and Godly living.
Someone yelled “Go long!”
Wrong - his dad’s work to help be a QB was OK. His dad’s sole error was not providing same emphasis on morality.
G1!
Maybe the 9ers could give him a tryout.
In his hand!
Maybe the 9ers could give him a tryout.
Their QB last year was probably be worse than he would have been.
I saw that ESPN documentary. It was one of a series called “A Football Life” or something like that. It was excellent. When Todd M. was a kid his father would not let him eat donuts or any kind on non organic food. The kid went straight into drugs in high school. While at USC he was popped for cocaine possesion in Newport Beach. All downhill from there. While he was playing for the LA Raiders he hung out with Charlie Sheen.
Junior Seau was Todd Marinovich’s team mate at USC. In the documentary Seau talks about what a selfish loser Todd Marinovich is. It is ironic that Seau is dead and Marinovich is still alive.
The police planted them on him. ;)
