Students at Wayne State University no longer have to take a single math course to graduate, and may soon be required to take a diversity course, instead.
“This decision was made largely because the current (math) requirement is at a level already required by most high school mathematics curriculum," the school explained in an announcement to students obtained by The Detroit Free Press.
“What we’re finding is a lot of students need remediation in math. They’re not at a high school level.” Tweet This
According to The Daily Caller, WSU asserts on its website that its general education “provides a shared educational experience that imparts knowledge and expertise essential for all undergraduate students regardless of their major or interests.” However, almost one-third of WSU students have to take remedial classes during their first year at the school, which would suggest that many students could benefit from taking high school-level math courses at the university.

I had to take just one math course as an undergraduate, and the instructor decided to teach it as a logic class instead. I got almost exactly the same score on the math portion of the GRE as I had made on the math portion of the SAT four years earlier (99th percentile in both cases). That was long, long ago.
And to your point, NYC is dropping their literacy requirement for the teaching certification because too few minorities could pass it. No word on whether or not they will create a replacement requirement.
High schools are socially promoting into college, where they continue their indoctrination, but not their learning.

I love life, and I love babies, and I dislike abortion. Never-the-less, we are at cross-roads here. We either turn this world over to mental and moral regressives and retards, or we take measures to make sure that our OWN children and grandchildren aren’t turned into a despised minority; eventually rendered extinct.
