The first full part of the series, "Year Zero", comprises 8,761 documents and files from an isolated, high-security network situated inside the CIA's Center for Cyber Intelligence in Langley, Virgina.

Oh...that's just GREAT. Let's just post all our national Security data on line from the get go and cut out the middle man.

Posting a creep's personal emails is one thing but posting classified documents is quite another. I'm definitely NOT celebrating these releases.

Time for a major clean up of the agency:

CIA lost control of the majority of its hacking arsenal including malware, viruses, trojans, weaponized "zero day" exploits, malware remote control systems and associated documentation. This extraordinary collection, which amounts to more than several hundred million lines of code, gives its possessor the entire hacking capacity of the CIA. The archive appears to have been circulated among former U.S. government hackers and contractors in an unauthorized manner, one of whom has provided WikiLeaks with portions of the archive

You miss the point. It is already out there. The CIA lost control of it and hackers have it.

Actually, this one should be celebrated. Why? Because this is basically the equivalent of a police department that had their machine guns, sniper rifles, surveillance gear and antimateriel rifles stolen, started to see them being used on civilians and then didn’t say word one about the losses, instead telling the citizens there was nothing to worry about.

The CIA has lost control of their hacking arsenal and it is now being used against us. Better that we know about it so our domestic a ystems can be patched and protected against these cyber weapons running around.

FYI - the bad guys already have all of these hacks and exploits *already*, remember?

It is debatable the CIA is solely concerned with national security.

I some ways I don’t care. When the CIA helps terrorists in Syria, and many other things that are exactly backwards from what they should be, I don’t care when they take a hit. They seem to be way out of control.

If wikileaks has it, I want them to publish it.

The simple reason is everything that information relates to is now compromised once wikileaks has it. Publishing it doesn’t compromise it any more than it already is. Compromised is compromised and if not quickly disseminated it becomes a sort of currency of leverage.

How else do those attempting to overthrow the US government get charged before they succeed?

If the agency lost control of this stuff, and it’s in the wild; why wouldn’t you want to know?

Not to mention the very real crime of them hacking us citizens.
