MILWAUKEE — An outraged mother is calling on Milwaukee Public Schools officials to fire a kindergarten teacher who introduced the young students in her class to a Ouija board.
The mom, who asked to not be publicly named, said the game was used on Friday in her 5-year-old's classroom at Zablocki Elementary.
"They were shutting off the lights and making it dark and talking to spirits. That's not something that should be at school," the mother said of the game, which is said to be able to channel spirits.
In an email to the mother, the teacher said the Ouija board had been in the classroom since Halloween.
"The kids have been asking for a scary story and I got the board and moved the paper clip to answer some of their questions. They asked about scary characters in movies. I did not say there were spirits. It was all done in fun. I understand your concern. It was silly and I'm sorry. I will take the board home and this won't happen again," the teacher said.
The family said the children are too young to be exposed to the concepts of Ouija boards, and they believe the teacher should just stick to curriculum.
The 5-year-old is now having nightmares, the mother said.
"He's scared now to go to bed at night, to be in the dark, anything alone," she said.
MPS officials have not responded to a request for comment.

The movie the exorcist was based on a boy (the movie had it as a girl) in real life who became possessed by using a Ouija board. I have warned and periodically warn my children against such things. This teacher just opened these children to demonic possession.
Public teachers union will unite forces behind this imbecile teacher.

‘Playing’ with Ouija Boards is, I agree, opens a gateway to evil spirits.
One should NOT mess with them. Inviting them in is asking a Satanic demon to inhabit one’s spirit.
May G_d, through his Holy Spirit, protect me from them.
On a side note, has anyone on FR used a Ouija board before?
Is there anything at all to the assertion that you can contact spirits thru it?

Evil. Get a lawyer and sue the teacher and school district. Make them pay for this. Those poor children and parents.
If I were this mother, that evil board would be up that teachers butt!!! and then she would be sitting on the sidewalk wondering how she got there!!!
Fired? Too extreme. Unless the teacher refuses to acknowledge this was a big mistake.
Write her up. Re-assign her to another school. Fire her if she ever does anything stupid like this again.
Having said this - Schools encourage worse things such as normalizing homosexual activities. You wanna fire a teacher? Fire one that teaches butt sex with other boys is OK.

Excessive early use of Ouija boards.
Maybe there needs to be a parental advisory label slapped on each box.
