The photo of a pit bull and his owner has been shared more than 46,000 times
A dog pictured hugging his owner has melted the hearts of people on social media.
Jamie Holt posted the photos on Facebook on Feb. 6 and since then the post has been shared more than 46,000 times.
In the pictures, a pit bull named Russ is seen hugging Holts niece.
Holt, who volunteers at an animal shelter, says Russ was recently adopted by her niece in Philadelphia.
The owner said she instantly fell in love with the pup and had to bring him home.
Holt hopes these photos will inspire others to adopt rescue dogs.
Our pit bull Ruby does the same thing - she’s also a rescue. Pure unrequited love.
Nice photo, but my eyes lock on two words and stay locked; “Pit Bull”.
Pit bulls have gotten a bad rap. I’ve known several that had the sweetest disposition.
Pit Bulls kill and maim children.
Pit Bull: "Psssst.. Hey.. I'm hungry.. Any toddlers around?"
“Pit bulls have gotten a bad rap. Ive known several that had the sweetest disposition.”
For some reason that sounds like:
“He gonna start college.”
“He turnin’ his life aroun’”
“He ain’t do nothin’ “
Our neighbors had a pit bull that would stay at our house once in awhile. Sweetest thing. It would climb into our daughters bed, go under the covers then pop it’s head back up and lay on the pillow. It was cute, and it could be there when I was reading to my daughter her goodnight book or telling stories, but I made it leave when it was bedtime (much to the wailing of my child and wife).
“I know - it’s a sweet dog - but even sweet dogs can nip sometimes if it gets kicked in their sleep or something. And they have such powerful jaws - no, it’s not sleeping there.”
Heh - “Seeing as these are the most powerful jaws of ANY canine, and it’s face is right next to yours - you got to ask yourself one question. Will it bite you or not? Well - do ya feel lucky? Punk?”
Cute picture. Where is the next frame, though...the one with the gaping wound and arterial spray?
The eyes are closed. It’s fallen asleep on its owner.
So does my Bully, Tigger. She often sleeps with her head on my shoulder. Seldom leaves my side. She’s a Heintz that someone dropped in the nearby forest. Came running up to me as I cleaned out the car. Jumped in, started crying (talking) and giving me kisses. She clearly says “I LUV YOU!” We’ve been best buddies since
They are all sweet when they aren’t killing or maiming.
What is more worrisome than the outright vicious Pit Bulls are the SWEET ONES THAT SNAP AND KILL, SHOCKING ALL WHO KNEW THAT "WONDERFUL" DOG.
I've NEVER heard of a Sheltie killing it's owner, a family member or a toddler or even another dog, EVER. Oh wait, lots of Shelties have been killed by Pit Bulls, and COUNTLESS human lives have been lost because of Pit Bulls.
It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
"When the mother suddenly coughed, "the dog made contact with the baby leading to traumatic injuries," Nguyen said. The parents rushed the newborn to the hospital, but the baby did not survive."
Bad rap?
If somebody is killed by a dog, 99% of the time it’s a pit.
Leaving your kids with a Doberman or German Shepherd is like leaving them home alone with a BB gun. Leaving them with a Pit Bull is like leaving them home alone with a AK-47.
While Pit Bulls don’t bite much more often than other dogs, when they do the target is certain to end up in the hospital, or 6 feet under.
Two Pit Bulls came out and attacked my son and nearly ripped his face off. He is fine now.
Pit Bulls kill and maim children.
