Maybe they got their style from an episode of “Criminal Minds”.
The local news crew was trying to guess his motives based on his reasoning. If his brain is fried, logic is no longer a factor. The fact that he tried to murder someone just to get a car confirms that fact that he's not all that rational.

Hmmm, I haven’t heard anything around here on what type of weapon he is using.
That is not exactly an inconspicuous item to travel with. Certainly not easy to conceal, so I don’t know.
He is clearly a desperate individual, and I can only assume the female that he is with has no judgment and nothing going for her.

They appear to be headed west and are meth heads. We are the next county west. My wife has to go clean nine banks tonight in close prox. to I-10 and Hwy 90. She starts at 1:00 a.m. We are not happy campers about it.
Neither would I be! I’d carry a gun even if I didn’t have a CCW in this situation. These two are cold blooded killers.....................
Thankfully CCW not needed here for open or concealed. She will be armed and she is good. Her big problem is situational awareness. Short attention span and easily distracted.
They borrowed a BAR to do it because the Thompson rounds had trouble going through the metal on the doors.
Until these vermin are captured or killed, you should accompany her then.......................
