An army psychiatrist who killed 13 people in a shooting rampage at a Texas army base is set to appear in court.

Among those issues is who defends Hasan during his appeals. His lead defense counsel is now an army judge but has continued to represent him.
Officials at Fort Hood have yet to review Hasan’s case nearly 18 months after he was sentenced to death.
That review is one of several mandatory steps in military death penalty cases.
Putting him to death (and reclassifying the Fort Hood attack from a workplace violence incident to a terrorist attack) would be an excellent step to show that we are serious in fighting terror (and with a side benefit of making liberal heads explode)
And we can always say "he was convicted and sentenced to death while Obama was CIC"

Close to zero. The military justice system runs slower than the civilian one. As long as Nidal chooses to fight it then there won't be an execution. The guy currently on death row the longest was sentenced in 1989.
I am surprised that he wasn’t pardoned.
Nidal Hasan is an Islamic terrorist that should be quartered in Gitmo. Period. Shave his beard, dress him in a pig-skin suit and take him for a one-way flight over the current 50-ft waves in the Atlantic.
Throw a stick in the spokes of his wheelchair.
