And Steyn’s interviews have been excellent. Just finished watching him interview the guy who interrogated Khalid Sheik Mohammad.

Rush has been off for the last 2 days. That may have something to do with it.

He called me — us — haters because we didn’t like him changing his content for Chuck U Schumer.
He is not who I thought he was. It was sad to find that out. It made
me realize that it wasn’t oversight that he never in 8 years mentioned that Obama couldn’t pass E- verify, had a fake BC, and a very strange selective service document. He was serving some other master. Not his loyal audience who prayed for him through thick and thin.

“Haven’t listened to el Rushbo himself since he told me Rubio, the little gang-of-eight traitor, was a “full throated conservative.” I quit listening to people after they lie to me.”
It was surreal. Rush went to the wall, several times, to stop the Republicans from getting Amnesty through (and with it, a death sentence to the Republican Party). Rush explained what it would do to our side better than anyone else - it was real simple: Sign up 30 Million new Democrats and we never win a national election again, we would have as much power as the Republican Party of California now has. Had any of those attempts had been signed into law, Trump would have been a footnote of history, not even able to win Texas.
...and the last big push, and it came DAMN CLOSE was 2013/2014, led by none other than MARCUS RUBIO. And Rush has the NERVE to refer to Rubio as a ‘Conservative’ - Rush understands the term ‘Conservative’ as well as anyone. Yes, Rubio gives a great speech...but he very, very, nearly sentenced our movement TO DEATH.
I have no clue what was in Rush’s head...but he got behind Trump the moment Trump sealed up the nomination...and has been doing great in my book. I wish some day he would tell us what the hell was going through his mind back then.
By the way, if you want to see just how close the Rubio got to sentencing our movement TO DEATH, just watch this Frontline. It is frightening how close, and how secretive, they were operating.

I couldn't understand how Rush could say such a thing either. I thought about it for quite a while and the only thing I could come up with was that Trump was gaining momentum fast at that time but he hadn't yet sealed the deal and the GOPe was desperately looking for an acceptable candidate (you know, one of them) to get everybody rallying behind quickly and it was Marco's turn to be pushed out on the stage to see if his balloon could take off. If Rush had told the truth about Marco right then his balloon would have crashed straight to the floor and the GOPe would have been pretty much out of guys to use against Trump.
I think Rush was just given the message to let Marco have his chance and Rush complied. He didn't have to say Marco was a "full throated conservative," he could have just said nothing - but he's always enjoyed his contacts and relationships with the big boys in the Repub party and I think this time he let that influence his decision. And he chose poorly. Rush lost a lot of listeners over that one sentence. And rightly so, since it was a lie.

Wasn't that the battle that the GOPe lost when David Brat primaried Eric Cantor (House Whip) by beating him mercilessly over the head with Cantor's support for the immigration deal? Knocked a lot of House Rep's back in line if I remember correctly. And then Trump's win in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania by razor thin margins. It's amazing how close we came to losing this country. We need to keep little Marco's treachery front and center any time they try to give him a cleanse and bring him back out as one of our good guys. Which I bet Rush would be happy to participate in.

I don’t think the GOPe controls Rush to nearly that extent, or we’d be looking at 30 million new Democrat voters...after all, they really, really, wanted to ‘put Amnesty behind them’.
Instead, I blame it on maybe a few factors:
1) Rubio was the only one delivering Reagan-type speeches
2) Rubio, like Rush, is from Florida
3) Rush has a fondness for Cubans...due to their outstanding cigars.
4) And maybe Rush was drugged-up for some reason.
But other than Rubio, and Cruz to a lesser extent, Rush played it pretty even during the Primary season...while the GOPe were KILLING THEMSELVES to try to stop Trump.
You may want to reconsider...he is really kicking butt now.

Yep, you’re EXACTLY right. If you watch the PBS show, you’d see they HAD THE VOTES for Amnesty in the House and were literally just hours away from passing it...and then Brat lost, which bought us enough time for Trump to win. I don’t think I could survive any more of that drama.
As far as Rubio/Rush goes...I’ll ping you if Rush ever mentions him again - it will be interesting, especially considering the way Rubio nearly derailed Tillerson - someone that Rush likes a lot.

I think he's what's called controlled opposition. Put in place to give we conservatives a place to go and then used to direct us subtly down non-productive paths.
Remember the primaries in 2008 when McCain was running way back in a large pack that contained several decent conservative? Rush NEVER came out with support for one candidate and instead allowed the melee to continue until the GOPe funneled all their support and numbers to McCain - leaving no single conservative candidate with a larger number of supporters because they were spread across such a large field.
Rush could have said, "Hey, it's time to thin the field and get behind one of these conservative candidates or this GOPe hack (McCain) is going to win this thing" but he didn't do that and we ended up with McCain handing the election to Obama.
To use a football analogy like Rush so much loves to employ, he's our quarterback out their leading our team on the field but his job is not to move the ball down the field, his job is to introduce just enough confusion to keep us from ever getting the ball over the goal line and if you ask me, he's been very good at his job.

Yes. I think he does have actual conservative ideals for real. But I think he is very jersey-identified, and still to this day is all rah rah Pubbies, booooo Dems. It’s not about that any more. It never was. But now we are all aware it is freedom vs the two party oligarchy of entrenched elite globalists. Not MahaRushie, though. He’s going to be very good at converting libs to the intelligent side, conservatism, but once they get there, he is NEVER going to stray from the globalist instructions he receives. And now I know.
It’s sad because he doesn’t have a gun to his head. He is choosing this path. I’m sure Sean Hannity was also told to NOT ever talk about Obama’s citizenship. Yet he sneaked it in, obliquely! He told stories of “friends” or fellow journalists who were threatened for having mentioned it! Sean Hannity works for his listeners. He actually wants trust between himself and them. We made Rush very rich. He CLAIMS he cares for us more than we will ever know. It’s bull. He cares for our dollars. He lies to us by omission daily.

I think we still have a long way to go but with President Trump up there in Washington showing people on a daily basis how much the media has lied to them I think he'll be opening a lot of eyes!

I quit Rush cold turkey back in January 2012. I have a laundry list of Rushisms that turned me off. But one of the biggest is his claim that he is for and follows the ‘original intent’ of our Constitution. IF that were true then he would have opposed the ineligible Obama, the ineligible Canadian born Ted Cruz, and anchor baby Marco Polo. Rush is as fake as the New York Slimes and Washington Compost. That ‘natural born’ requirement is for ‘we the people’ not a bunch of 1%ers on either side of the political landscape.
I think Rush was privy to the Wilson junk and he expected at any moment during 2016, Trump would be expelled from the Republican primary, one way or another... They sure as .ell tried to toss Trump overboard. Personally, I am finished with the so called ‘conservatives’ yackers and wordsmiths, that loved themselves a Romney, but, did everything in their power to derail Trump's self funded campaign.
