Tucker Carlson and Glenn Beck brawled over his inflammatory rhetoric on Trump, his support of Ted Cruz, what hes learned from the election, why Clinton lost and why he thinks Trump should be given a chance. The interview starts off with Beck denying he said Cruz was anointed by God to be president.
Beck said, I never said he was anointed by God to be president of the United States. I do believe that people are called, all of us are, youre called for your job, Im called for my job, all of us are called for a specific time. That doesnt mean that he is the only one who can do it. It doesnt mean any of that. And it certainly doesnt mean that God is going to make that happen. We all have to play our roles.

Yes, Beck had a few good comments. However, he struck me as “winners” and win over viewers. He went way to far in his anti-Trump ramblings, including threats. I recall his conversation with Brad Thor when he knew then and later that the only alternative was Hillary.
Beck’s in the denial stage, not that it happened but that he said and did what he said and did. Total disconnect to the point of disassociation. It’s as if it was all a bad dream for him.
Now, he’s attempting to rationalize and clean up after himself. Drunks do that, the functional ones at least. People who cycle in and out of mania or delusion do that, again the functional ones at least.
He won’t be able to rehabilitate himself until he can face up to what he said and did while he was off the rails and own it.
He’s not owning it. He’s polishing that turd to a high sheen.
Correction: struck me as sucking up to “winners”
I didn’t think it was much of a brawl. My wife and I both thought it was more of an attempt by Carlson to help Beck clarify and rehabilitate himself.
He’s a nut case.
Reagan opposed the holiday and reluctantly signed it because he looked at King beyond the flowery preacher rhetoric Beck loves and saw King for what he was
Beck is gone, and he will stay gone.
Whether or not he finds his way out of the woods is his own business, and even though I hope he does, I am one of those who views him as a traitor.
Personally, I think Beck is capable of greater introspection that Levin is. In fact, I don’t think Levin is capable of introspection at all.
Both of these people made complete fools of themselves this election. Two abject morons, but of the two, Beck is slightly smarter. I suspect we won’t be seeing Levin on Tucker’s show.
Yes, I agree. Beck did say that during the election too, as far as I can remember, at least, and I don’t feel like looking it up to verify, but I recall that he did.
And yep, it was good, it was interesting. I watched it twice.
Beck’s judgment is WAY off base and I stopped listening to him a long time ago. These two things completely did it in for me:
1) Beck calling Trump supporters “Brownshirts.”
2) Beck preferring Hillary over Trump as a “moral, ethical choice.”
Beck and his “yuck-yuck” radio boys have made themselves completely irrelevant. He’s lost millions of listeners and I don’t know why any radio stations carry him anymore.
Really... positions are changing...
Beck has shown signs of imagining himself to be some sort of preacher for several years, at least going to back to his imitation Martin Luther King “Restoring Honor” rally back in 2010.
What he’s closer to is Elmer Gantry version 2.0
There’s a lot of things I would associate with Glenn Beck but ‘overthinking’ isn’t exactly one that would come to mind, assuming that I get what you mean by it.
What I see is narcissism. An excessive need to appear important and to be the center of attention. And what better way to be important than to posture as a prophet and the arbiter of political morality
I was ashamed of Beck’s behavior. He had done outstanding work at Fox.
The chalkboard was a marvelous idea.
when Tucker gets that quizzical expression going it usually means the target the guest is in a world of trouble.
I agree. He’s not stable.
I define overthinking as thinking well past the correct answer to any given question and well into the wrong answer.
And yet, here we are talking about him.
Plenty of people just love to see a train wreck.
I celebrate Lee/Jackson day instead
