I cannot STAND mouthy or disobedient kids. I watched an Aunt raise three of the most amazing brats you’d ever see. But then, one is now an FBI Agent, and the other two are in the trades. All are married with families and are hard-working taxpayers.
So, who knows? *SHRUG*
One thing that is interesting in this thread is the number of posts where it is assumed the spanking was done because the PARENT lost their temper, lost their patience or other wise beat their child while angry.
None of those applied when I spanked my kids. I did it only because it was my duty under the circumstances and as a father as I see them. I certainly didn’t enjoy it and always shook my head to myself because the little dickens insisted in getting the spanking in the first place by his/her actions.
Exactly. I can honestly say that neither of my parents EVER spanked Sis or me in anger.
Of course, when we were moody, impossible TEENAGERS, I’m sure they had their moments, LOL!

I can still remember my mother getting very mad when I was not able to get toilet trained.
She was a sad woman and she took out her anger at me my sister. When I came home from college one time, my father actually get mad at me. And he was upset at my sister. My sister was in the cross country team. And I told her to run like hell.
He was about to beat her up. She was a skinny 16year old. He was strong, about 6’3”... I later picked up my sister I knew she would run.

If you watch the video, and then read the comments on this thread, you will see that Stefan predicts all the stupid comments people will make. They make utterly gratuitous assertions like, “The studies about Global Warming are rigged, so all the studies about spanking are rigged.”
The fundamental reason people make these stupid comments is that they fear examining the trauma they experienced. One of the ways they hide from the suffering and rage—and ALIENATION from their parents—they experienced as a child is beating their own children. “If I beat my children, that proves that my father and mother were right to beat me.”
