A good thing says the libertarian part or me. Yet I can only now appreciate (thanks to Obama) the angst felt by my parents from the deep south when this ruling came down.
I grew up in Alabama, and remember first seeing an inter-racial couple in around 1984 - not in Alabama but on a trip to Michigan. Thirty short years later, and it seems almost commonplace.
Interracial marriage between black men and white women can be very dangerous for white women. According to certain sociological studies. White women are 12 times more likely to be murdered by their black husband than when married to a white man. The ratio is even higher in nonspousal intimate relationships.
White women are a race trophy for a lot of black men with a racist chip on their shoulder. Domestic violence often occurs when the woman refuses to cooperate with his demands and he takes it as a racial insult.
Eldrige Cleaver, one-time leader of the Black Panthers who was a self-confessed serial rapist of white women motivated by racist revenge wrote in his book, “Soul on Ice” Quote
““Rape was an insurrectionary act. It delighted me that I was defying and trampling upon the white man’s law, upon his system of values, and that I was defiling his women – and this point, I believe, was the most satisfying to me because I was very resentful over the historical fact of how the white man has used the black woman. I felt I was getting revenge.
I started out practicing on black girls in the ghetto where dark and vicious deeds appear not as aberrations or deviations from the norm, but as part of the sufficiency of the Evil of a day. When I considered myself smooth enough, I crossed the tracks and sought out white prey. I did this consciously, deliberately, willfully, methodically.”
He also wrote this about white women:
Many whites flatter themselves with the idea that the Negro male’s lust and desire for the white dream girl is purely an esthetic attraction, but nothing could be further from the truth. His motivation is often of such a bloody, hateful, bitter, and malignant nature that whites would really be hard pressed to find it flattering “
Police crime reports show that Cleaver’s view of white women is not an isolated view among black men.
This is one of the reasons the Census is reporting that the White’s will lose majority status in the coming years.
I’ve observed a number of interracial marriages and in general the father tends to reject or neglect the children that don’t look like him once they hit Puberty(The man often leaves). This often results in unhappy or dysfunctional adults. This behavior probably stems from a biological anti-cuckolding instinct in men. Children from a different race isn’t an issue for mothers.
I don’t believe “race” should be a thing. Of course I am glad people don’t have to do some kind of genetic test to see if they are good enough to marry.
However, culture and country, religion and family lifestyle, can put a serious strain on a marriage if too different. People need to focus on that more. I know I did not.
Race, with so many people of mixed parentage, will in the future have to be nazi-sequel with percentages and genetic tests. We do not want that. Do away with the concept of race. I want color blind.
