A good thing says the libertarian part or me. Yet I can only now appreciate (thanks to Obama) the angst felt by my parents from the deep south when this ruling came down.
I’m trying to remember the year this happened. In the South I worked with a very religious black woman, at an Insurance company home office. The subject of interracial marriage was being discussed at the lunch table. She was very much opposed. I joked that ‘one day we will all be khaki’. She was not amused. Still remained friends.
